Samurah said: The Messenger of Allah said; 'DO not be confused by the Adhan of Bilal, or by this whiteness, until dawn appears like this - meaning horizontally. (One of the narrators) Abu Dawud said: And he spread out his hands gesturing to the right and left.

أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا سَوَادَةُ بْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ سَمُرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ أَذَانُ بِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا هَذَا الْبَيَاضُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى يَنْفَجِرَ الْفَجْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَعْنِي مُعْتَرِضًا،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَبَسَطَ بِيَدَيْهِ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا مَادًّا يَدَيْهِ .

سمرہ بن جندب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”بلال کی اذان تمہیں ہرگز دھوکہ میں نہ ڈالے، اور نہ یہ سفیدی یہاں تک کہ فجر کی روشنی اس طرح اور اس طرح“، یعنی چوڑائی میں پھوٹ پڑے۔ ابوداؤد ( طیالسی ) کہتے ہیں: ( شعبہ ) نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ دائیں بائیں بڑھا کر پھیلائے۔
