Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: Thos is the one at whose death the Throne shook, the gates of heaven were opened of him and seventy thousand angles attended his funeral. It squeezed him once then released him.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْقَزِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا الَّذِي تَحَرَّكَ لَهُ الْعَرْشُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفُتِحَتْ لَهُ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَشَهِدَهُ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَقَدْ ضُمَّ ضَمَّةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ فُرِّجَ عَنْهُ .

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہی وہ شخص ہے جس کے لیے عرش الٰہی ہل گیا، آسمان کے دروازے کھول دئیے گئے، اور ستر ہزار فرشتے اس کے جنازے میں شریک ہوئے، ( پھر بھی قبر میں ) اسے ایک بار بھینچا گیا، پھر ( یہ عذاب ) اس سے جاتا رہا“ ۱؎۔

It was narrated form Al Bara bin Azib that the Prophet said: Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the world that stands firm in this world, and in the Hereafter. This was revelated concerning the torment in the grave. It will be said to him (the deceased: 'Who is your Lord?' and he will say: 'My Lord is Allah and my Prophet is Muhammad. That is what is (the meaning of) His saying: Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world, and in the Hereafter .

It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet heard a sound from a grave and said: When died this man die? They said: he died during the Jahiliyyah. So he was delighted and said: Were it not that you would not bury one another, I would have prayed to Allah to make you hear the torment of the grave.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah used to say: Allahumma inni a udhu bika min adhabil-qabri wa a 'udhu bika min 'adhabin-nar, wa a 'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat, wa audhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-dajjal (O Allah, I seek refuge with you from the torment of the grave, and I seek refuge with You from the torment of the Fire, and I seek refuge with You from the trial of the Dajjal).
