Uqbah bin 'Amir Al-Juhani said: There are three times at which the Messenger of Allah forbade us to pray or to bury our dead: When the sun has risen fully until it is higher, when it reaches its zenith until it has passed the zenith, and when the sun starts to set (Sahib)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ ثَلَاثُ سَاعَاتٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَانَا أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ فِيهِنَّ أَوْ نَقْبُرَ فِيهِنَّ مَوْتَانَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حِينَ تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ بَازِغَةً حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحِينَ يَقُومُ قَائِمُ الظَّهِيرَةِ حَتَّى تَزُولَ الشَّمْسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحِينَ تَضَيَّفُ الشَّمْسُ لِلْغُرُوبِ .

عقبہ بن عامر جہنی رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ تین اوقات ایسے ہیں جن میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمیں نماز پڑھنے ( اور ) اپنے مردوں کو قبر میں دفنانے سے منع فرماتے تھے: ایک جس وقت سورج نکل رہا ہو یہاں تک کہ بلند ہو جائے، اور دوسرے جس وقت ٹھیک دوپہر ہو یہاں تک کہ سورج ڈھل جائے، اور ( تیسرے جس وقت سورج ڈوبنے کے لیے مائل ہو رہا ہو۔
