Ibn 'Umar said: Hafsah told me that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray two brief rak'ahs between the call (the Adhan) and the Iqamah for Fajr prayer.
أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعَيْبٌ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ النِّدَاءِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ:‏‏‏‏ كِلَا الْحَدِيثَيْنِ عِنْدَنَا خَطَأٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ.
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ   مجھ سے ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز فجر کی اذان اور اقامت کے درمیان ہلکی ہلکی دو رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے۔ ابوعبدالرحمٰن نسائی کہتے ہیں: دونوں حدیثیں ہمارے نزدیک غلط ہیں ۱؎ واللہ اعلم۔
