Abdullah bin Abi Awfa said: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم raised his head after bowing, he said: Allah listens to him who praises Him. O Allah, our lord, to Thee be the praise in the heavens and in all the earth, and all that it please Thee to create afterwards. Abu Dawud said: Sufyan al-Thawri and Shubah bin al-Hajjaj reported on authority of Ubaid bin al-Hasan: There is no mention of the words “after bowing” in this tradition. Sufyan said: we met al-shaikh Ubaid bin al-Hasan; he did not say the words “bowing” in it. Abu dawud said: Shubah narrated this from Abi ‘Ismah, from al-Amash, on the authority of Ubaid, saying: “after bowing”.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَة، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَوَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءُ الْأَرْضِ وَمِلْءُ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَشُعْبَةُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَيْسَ فِيهِ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ سُفْيَانُ:‏‏‏‏ لَقِينَا الشَّيْخَ عُبَيْدًا أَبَا الْحَسَنِ بَعْدُ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ فِيهِ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ. قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي عِصْمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ.

عبداللہ بن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب رکوع سے اپنا سر اٹھاتے تھے تو «سمع الله لمن حمده اللهم ربنا لك الحمد ملء السموات وملء الأرض وملء ما شئت من شىء بعد» کہتے تھے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: سفیان ثوری اور شعبہ بن حجاج نے اس حدیث کو عبید بن لحسن ابوالحسن سے روایت کیا ہے، لیکن اس میں «بعد الركوع» نہیں ہے، سفیان کا کہنا ہے کہ ہم نے اس کے بعد شیخ عبید ابوالحسن سے ملاقات کی تو انہوں نے بھی اس حدیث میں «بعد الركوع» کے الفاظ نہیں کہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے شعبہ نے ابوعصمہ سے، ابوعصمہ نے اعمش سے اور اعمش نے عبید سے روایت کیا ہے، اس میں «بعد الركوع» کے الفاظ موجود ہیں۔

Mu’ammil said ( in his version); “ In all the heavens, and in all the earth, and in all that it pleases Thee to create afterwards. O thou Who art worthy of praise and glory, most worthy of what a servant says, and we are all thy servants, no one can withhold what thou givest or give what Thou withholdest. “The narrators then were agreed on the words: “And riches cannot avail a wealthy person with Thee. ”

Amir said: The people behind the imam should not say: “Allah listens to him who praises Him. ” But they should say: “ Our Lord, to Thee be the praise. ”
