Anas bin Malik said that his grandmother Mulaikah the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم to take meals which the prepared for him. He took some of it and prayed. He said: Get up, I shall lead you in prayer. Anas said: I got up and took a mat which had become black on account of long use. I then washed it with water. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم stood upon it. I and the orphan (Ibn Abi Dumairah, the freed slave of the prophet) stood in a row behind him. The old women stood behind us. He then led us two RAKAHs in prayer and went away.

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ مُلَيْكَةَ دَعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِطَعَامٍ صَنَعَتْهُ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُومُوا فَلَأُصَلِّيَ لَكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَنَسٌ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُمْتُ إِلَى حَصِيرٍ لَنَا قَدِ اسْوَدَّ مِنْ طُولِ مَا لُبِسَ فَنَضَحْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَفَفْتُ أَنَا وَالْيَتِيمُ وَرَاءَهُ وَالْعَجُوزُ مِنْ وَرَائِنَا فَصَلَّى لَنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ان کی دادی ملیکہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کھانے پر بلایا، جو انہوں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لیے تیار کیا تھا، تو آپ نے اس میں سے کھایا پھر فرمایا: تم لوگ کھڑے ہو جاؤ تاکہ میں تمہیں نماز پڑھاؤں ۔ انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: تو میں اپنی ایک چٹائی کی طرف بڑھا، جو عرصے سے پڑے پڑے کالی ہو گئی تھی تو اس پر میں نے پانی چھڑکا، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس پر کھڑے ہوئے، میں نے اور ایک یتیم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے صف باندھی اور بوڑھی عورت ( ملیکہ ) ہمارے پیچھے کھڑی ہوئیں تو آپ نے ہمیں دو رکعت نماز پڑھائی پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنے گھر واپس ہوئے۔

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: Alqamah and al-Aswad sought permission from Abdullah (ibn Masud) for admission, and we remained sitting at his door for a long time. A slave-girl came out and gave them permission (to enter). He (Ibn Masud) then got up and prayed (standing) between me (al-Aswad) and him (Alqamah). He then said: I witnessed the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم doing similarly.

Narrated Yazid ibn al-Aswad: Jabir ibn Yazid ibn al-Aswad reported on the authority of his father: I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. When he finished the prayer, he would turn (his face from the direction of the Kabah).

Narrated Al-Bara ibn Azib: When we would pray behind the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, we liked to be on his right side. He (the Prophet) would sit turning his face towards us (and back towards the Kabah) صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

Narrated Mughirah ibn Shubah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The Imam should not pray at the place where he led the prayer until he removes (from there). Abu Dawud said: Ata al-Khurasani did not see Mughirah bin Shubah (This tradition is, therefore munqati', i. e. a link is missing in the chain).

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: When the Imam completes the prayer and sits (for reciting tashahhud), and then becomes defiled (i. e. his ablution becomes void) before he speaks (to someone), his prayer becomes complete. And those who prayed behind him also complete the prayer.

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The key of prayer is purification; takbir (saying Allah is most great ) makes (all acts which break prayer) unlawful and taslim (uttering the salutation) makes (all such acts) lawful.
