Anas bin Malik said: A man peeped into some of the apartment of the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. The prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم got up taking an arrowhead or arrowheads. He said: I can still picture myself looking at the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم when he was exploring to pierce him.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ مِنْ بَعْضِ حُجَرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِشْقَصٍ أَوْ مَشَاقِصَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْتِلُهُ لِيَطْعَنَهُ .
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے کسی ایک کمرے سے جھانکا تو آپ تیر کا ایک یا کئی پھل لے کر اس کی طرف بڑھے، گویا میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھ رہا ہوں کی آپ اس کی طرف اس طرح بڑھ رہے ہیں کہ وہ جان نہ پائے تاکہ اسے گھونپ دیں۔

The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to him: Away from it, (stand) this side or that side. Asking permission is meant to escape from the look of an eye.

Narrated Kaladah ibn Hanbal: Safwan ibn Umayyah sent him with some milk, a young gazelle and some small cucumbers to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم when he was in the upper part of Makkah. I entered but I did not give a salutation. He said: Go back and say: Peace be upon you ! This happened after Safwan ibn Umayyah and embraced Islam. Amr said: Ibn Safwan told me all this on the authority of Kaladah ibn Hanbal, and he did not say: I heard it from him. Abu Dawud said: Yahya bin Habib said: Umayyah bin Safwan. He did not say: I heard from Kaladah bin Hanbal. Yahya also said: Amr bin Abdullah bin Safwan told him that Kaladah bin al-Hanbal told him.

Narrated Ribi: A man of Banu Amir told that he asked the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم for permission (to enter the house) when he was in the house, saying: May I enter ? The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to his servant: Go out to this (man) and teach him how to ask permission to enter the house, and say to him: Say: Peace be upon you. May I enter? The man heard it and said: Peace be upon you! May I enter ? The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم permitted him and he entered.
