Abu Hurairah said: when the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم went to his bed, he used to say: O Allah! Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, Lord of everything, who splittest the grain and the kernel, who hast sent down the Torah, forelock Thou seizes. Thou art the first and there is nothing before thee; Thou art the Last and there is nothing after Thee; Thou art the Outward and there is nothing above Thee; Thou art the Inward and there is nothing below Thee. Wahb added in his version: pay the debt for me and grant me riches instead of poverty.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَالِدٍ نَحْوَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَرَبَّ الْأَرْضِ وَرَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَالِقَ الْحَبِّ وَالنَّوَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مُنَزِّلَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ ذِي شَرٍّ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ فَلَيْسَ قَبْلَكَ شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنْتَ الْآخِرُ فَلَيْسَ بَعْدَكَ شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ فَلَيْسَ فَوْقَكَ شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنْتَ الْبَاطِنُ فَلَيْسَ دُونَكَ شَيْءٌ ،‏‏‏‏ زَادَ وَهْبٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ:‏‏‏‏ اقْضِ عَنِّي الدَّيْنَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَغْنِنِي مِنَ الْفَقْرِ.

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب اپنے بستر پر سونے کے لیے جاتے تو فرماتے: «اللهم رب السموات ورب الأرض ورب كل شىء فالق الحب والنوى منزل التوراة والإنجيل والقرآن أعوذ بك من شر كل ذي شر أنت آخذ بناصيته أنت الأول فليس قبلك شىء وأنت الآخر فليس بعدك شىء وأنت الظاهر فليس فوقك شىء وأنت الباطن فليس دونك شىء اقض عني الدين وأغنني من الفقر» اے اللہ! آسمانوں و زمین کے مالک! اے ہر چیز کے پالنہار! اے دانے اگانے والے! اے بیج سے درخت پیدا کرنے والے! اے توراۃ، انجیل اور قرآن اتارنے والے! میں تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں، ہر شر والے کے شر سے جس کی پیشانی تیرے قبضے میں ہے، تو سب سے پہلے ہے، تجھ سے پہلے کوئی چیز نہیں، تو سب سے آخر ہے، تیرے بعد کوئی چیز نہیں، تو سب سے ظاہر ( اوپر ) ہے، تجھ سے اوپر کوئی نہیں، تو چھپا ہوا ہے، تجھ سے زیادہ چھپا ہوا کوئی نہیں وہب نے اپنی حدیث میں اتنا اضافہ کیا ہے کہ: تو میرا قرض اتار دے اور تنگ دستی سے نکال کر مجھے مالدار بنا دے۔

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to say when he lay down: O Allah, I seek refuge in Thy noble Person and in Thy perfect Words from the evil of what Thou seizest by its forelock; O Allah! Thou removest debt and sin; O Allah! thy troop's not routed, Thy promise is not broken and the riches of the rich do not avail against Thee. Glory and praise be unto Thee!.

Anas said: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم went to his bed, he would say: Praise be to Allah who has fed us, given us drink, satisfied us and given us refuge. Many there are who have no one to provide sufficiency for them, or give them refuge.

Narrated Abul Azhar al-Anmari: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم went to his bed at night, he would say: in the name of Allah, I have laid down my side for Allah. O Allah! forgive me my sin, drive away my devil, free me from my responsibility, and place me in the highest assembly. Abu Dawud said: Abu Hammam al-Ahwazi transmitted it from Thawr. He mentioned Abu Zuhair al-Anmari (instead of Abu al-Azhar).

Farwah bin Nawfal quoted his father as saying that the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to Nawfal (his father): Say, O infidels! and then sleep at its end, for it is a declaration of freedom from polytheism.

Aishah said: Every night when he prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم went to his bed, he joined his hands and breathed into them, reciting into them: ”say: he is Allah, One” and say ; I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn and Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of men. Then he would wipe as much of his body as he could with his hands, beginning with his head, his face and the front of his body, doing that three times.

Narrated Irbad ibn Sariyah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to recite al-Musabbihat before going to sleep, and say: They contain a verse which is better than a thousand verses.
