Abu Hurairah reported the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: When one of you sneezes, he should say: praise be to Allah in every circumstance, and his brother or his companion should say: Allah in every on you! And he should then reply: May Allah guide you well-being.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ:‏‏‏‏ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلْيَقُلْ أَخُوهُ أَوْ صَاحِبُهُ:‏‏‏‏ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ هُوَ:‏‏‏‏ يَهْدِيكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَكُمْ .
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کسی کو چھینک آئے تو چاہیئے کہ وہ کہے: «الحمد لله على كل حال» ( ہر حالت میں تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے سزاوار ہیں ) اور چاہیئے کہ اس کا بھائی یا اس کا ساتھی کہے: «يرحمك الله» ( اللہ تعالیٰ آپ پر رحم فرمائے اب وہ پھر کہے: «يهديكم الله ويصلح بالكم» ( اللہ تمہیں ہدایت دے اور تمہیں ٹھیک رکھے، اور تمہاری حالت درست فرما دے ) ۔

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Hurairah through a different chain from the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. A transmitter Saeed bin Saeed said: I know him that he traced this tradition back to the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Abu Dawud said: Abu Nuaim transmitted it from Musa bin Qais, from Muhammad bin Ajlan, from Saeed, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, from the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

Ahmad’s version has: You invoked a blessing on one of them and left the other. He replied: This man praised Allah, and this man did not praise Allah.
