Narrated Al-Bara ibn Azib: We went out with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When we reached his grave, it was not yet dug. So the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jabir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back, and at that moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord, what is your religion, and who is your Prophet? Hannad's version says: Two angels will come to him, make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah's Book, believed in it, and considered it true; which is verified by Allah's words: Allah's Book, believed in it, and considered it true, which is verified by Allah's words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth, so spread a bed for him from Paradise, clothe him from Paradise, and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him, and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel, saying: His spirit will be restored to his body, two angels will come to him, make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from Heaven: He has lied, so spread a bed for him from Hell, clothe him from Hell, and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him, and his grave will be compressed, so that his ribs will be crushed together. Jabir's version adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him, having a sledge-hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it, it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn, and he will become dust. Then his spirit will be restored to him.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ. ح وَحَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، وَهَذَا لَفْظُ هَنَّادٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ الْمِنْهَالِ، عَنْ زَاذَانَ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْقَبْرِ، وَلَمَّا يُلْحَدْ، فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَجَلَسْنَا حَوْلَهُ، كَأَنَّمَا عَلَى رُءُوسِنَا الطَّيْرُ، وَفِي يَدِهِ عُودٌ يَنْكُتُ بِهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ، فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ، فَقَالَ: اسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا، زَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ هَاهُنَا، وَقَالَ: وَإِنَّهُ لَيَسْمَعُ خَفْقَ نِعَالِهِمْ إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ، حِينَ يُقَالُ لَهُ: يَا هَذَا، مَنْ رَبُّكَ ؟ وَمَا دِينُكَ ؟ وَمَنْ نَبِيُّكَ ؟ قَالَ هَنَّادٌ: قَالَ: وَيَأْتِيهِ مَلَكَانِ، فَيُجْلِسَانِهِ، فَيَقُولَانِ لَهُ: مَنْ رَبُّكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ، فَيَقُولَانِ لَهُ: مَا دِينُكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: دِينِيَ الْإِسْلَامُ، فَيَقُولَانِ لَهُ: مَا هَذَا الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي بُعِثَ فِيكُمْ ؟ قَالَ: فَيَقُولُ: هُوَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَيَقُولَانِ: وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: قَرَأْتُ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ، فَآمَنْتُ بِهِ، وَصَدَّقْتُ، زَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ، فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ سورة إبراهيم آية 27، ثُمَّ اتَّفَقَا، قَالَ: فَيُنَادِي مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَنْ قَدْ صَدَقَ عَبْدِي، فَأَفْرِشُوهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ، وَافْتَحُوا لَهُ بَابًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، وَأَلْبِسُوهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ، قَالَ: فَيَأْتِيهِ مِنْ رَوْحِهَا وَطِيبِهَا، قَالَ: وَيُفْتَحُ لَهُ فِيهَا مَدَّ بَصَرِهِ، قَالَ: وَإِنَّ الْكَافِرَ، فَذَكَرَ مَوْتَهُ، قَالَ: وَتُعَادُ رُوحُهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ، وَيَأْتِيهِ مَلَكَانِ فَيُجْلِسَانِهِ، فَيَقُولَانِ لَهُ: مَنْ رَبُّكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: هَاهْ هَاهْ هَاهْ لَا أَدْرِي، فَيَقُولَانِ لَهُ: مَا دِينُكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ هَاهْ هَاهْ لَا أَدْرِي، فَيَقُولَانِ: مَا هَذَا الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي بُعِثَ فِيكُمْ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: هَاهْ هَاهْ لَا أَدْرِي، فَيُنَادِي مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَنْ كَذَبَ، فَأَفْرِشُوهُ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَأَلْبِسُوهُ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَافْتَحُوا لَهُ بَابًا إِلَى النَّارِ، قَالَ: فَيَأْتِيهِ مِنْ حَرِّهَا، وَسَمُومِهَا، قَالَ: وَيُضَيَّقُ عَلَيْهِ قَبْرُهُ حَتَّى تَخْتَلِفَ فِيهِ أَضْلَاعُهُ زَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ يُقَيَّضُ لَهُ أَعْمَى، أَبْكَمُ مَعَهُ مِرْزَبَّةٌ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، لَوْ ضُرِبَ بِهَا جَبَلٌ لَصَارَ تُرَابًا، قَالَ: فَيَضْرِبُهُ بِهَا ضَرْبَةً يَسْمَعُهَا مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ إِلَّا الثَّقَلَيْنِ، فَيَصِيرُ تُرَابًا، قَالَ: ثُمَّ تُعَادُ فِيهِ الرُّوحُ .
براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ انصار کے ایک شخص کے جنازے میں نکلے، ہم قبر کے پاس پہنچے، وہ ابھی تک تیار نہ تھی، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیٹھ گئے اور ہم بھی آپ کے اردگرد بیٹھ گئے گویا ہمارے سروں پر چڑیاں بیٹھی ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ہاتھ میں ایک لکڑی تھی، جس سے آپ زمین کرید رہے تھے، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سر اٹھایا اور فرمایا: قبر کے عذاب سے اللہ کی پناہ طلب کرو اسے دو بار یا تین بار فرمایا، یہاں جریر کی روایت میں اتنا اضافہ ہے: اور فرمایا: اور وہ ان کے جوتوں کی چاپ سن رہا ہوتا ہے جب وہ پیٹھ پھیر کر لوٹتے ہیں، اسی وقت اس سے پوچھا جاتا ہے، اے جی! تمہارا رب کون ہے؟ تمہارا دین کیا ہے؟ اور تمہارا نبی کون ہے؟ ہناد کی روایت کے الفاظ ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: پھر اس کے پاس دو فرشتے آتے ہیں، اسے بٹھاتے ہیں اور اس سے پوچھتے ہیں: تمہارا رب ( معبود ) کون ہے؟ تو وہ کہتا ہے، میرا رب ( معبود ) اللہ ہے، پھر وہ دونوں اس سے پوچھتے ہیں: تمہارا دین کیا ہے؟ وہ کہتا ہے: میرا دین اسلام ہے، پھر پوچھتے ہیں: یہ کون ہے جو تم میں بھیجا گیا تھا؟ وہ کہتا ہے: وہ اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہیں، پھر وہ دونوں اس سے کہتے ہیں: تمہیں یہ کہاں سے معلوم ہوا؟ وہ کہتا ہے: میں نے اللہ کی کتاب پڑھی اور اس پر ایمان لایا اور اس کو سچ سمجھا جریر کی روایت میں یہاں پر یہ اضافہ ہے: اللہ تعالیٰ کے قول«يثبت الله الذين آمنوا» سے یہی مراد ہے ( پھر دونوں کی روایتوں کے الفاظ ایک جیسے ہیں ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: پھر ایک پکارنے والا آسمان سے پکارتا ہے: میرے بندے نے سچ کہا لہٰذا تم اس کے لیے جنت کا بچھونا بچھا دو، اور اس کے لیے جنت کی طرف کا ایک دروازہ کھول دو، اور اسے جنت کا لباس پہنا دو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے ہیں: پھر جنت کی ہوا اور اس کی خوشبو آنے لگتی ہے، اور تا حد نگاہ اس کے لیے قبر کشادہ کر دی جاتی ہے ۔ اور رہا کافر تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کی موت کا ذکر کیا اور فرمایا: اس کی روح اس کے جسم میں لوٹا دی جاتی ہے، اس کے پاس دو فرشتے آتے ہیں، اسے اٹھاتے ہیں اور پوچھتے ہیں: تمہارا رب کون ہے؟ وہ کہتا ہے: ہا ہا! مجھے نہیں معلوم، وہ دونوں اس سے پوچھتے ہیں: یہ آدمی کون ہے جو تم میں بھیجا گیا تھا؟ وہ کہتا ہے: ہا ہا! مجھے نہیں معلوم، پھر وہ دونوں اس سے پوچھتے ہیں: تمہارا دین کیا ہے؟ وہ کہتا ہے: ہا ہا! مجھے نہیں معلوم، تو پکارنے والا آسمان سے پکارتا ہے: اس نے جھوٹ کہا، اس کے لیے جہنم کا بچھونا بچھا دو اور جہنم کا لباس پہنا دو، اور اس کے لیے جہنم کی طرف دروازہ کھول دو، تو اس کی تپش اور اس کی زہریلی ہوا ( لو ) آنے لگتی ہے اور اس کی قبر تنگ کر دی جاتی ہے یہاں تک کہ اس کی پسلیاں ادھر سے ادھر ہو جاتی ہیں جریر کی روایت میں یہ اضافہ ہے: پھر اس پر ایک اندھا گونگا ( فرشتہ ) مقرر کر دیا جاتا ہے، اس کے ساتھ لوہے کا ایک گرز ہوتا ہے اگر وہ اسے کسی پہاڑ پر بھی مارے تو وہ بھی خاک ہو جائے، چنانچہ وہ اسے اس کی ایک ضرب لگاتا ہے جس کو مشرق و مغرب کے درمیان کی ساری مخلوق سوائے آدمی و جن کے سنتی ہے اور وہ مٹی ہو جاتا ہے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے ہیں: پھر اس میں روح لوٹا دی جاتی ہے ۔

Narrated Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah: I heard the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say: There has been no Prophet after Noah who has not warned his people about the antichrist (Dajjal), and I warn you of him. Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم stood among the people and praised Allah in a way which is worthy of him, and mentioned the Antichrist (Dajjal), saying: I warn you of him, and there has been no prophet who has not warned his people about him, and Noah also warned his people about him. But I tell you about him a word which no Prophet had told his people: you should know that he will be blind in one eye, and Allah is not blind is one eye.
