Narrated Ibn Kab bin Malik: On the authority of his father: Umm Mubashshir said to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم during the sickness of which he died: What do you think about your illness, Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم? I do not think about the illness of my son except the poisoned sheep of which he had eaten with you at Khaybar. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: And I do not think about my illness except that. This is the time when it cut off my aorta. Abu Dawud said: Sometime Abd al-Razzaq transmitted this tradition, omitting the link of the Companion, from Mamar, from al-Zuhri, from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and sometimes he transmitted it from al-Zuhri from Abdur-Rahman bin Kab bin Malik, Abdur-Rahman mentioned that Mamar sometimes transmitted the tradition in a mursal form (omitting the link of the Companion), and they recorded it. And all this is correct with us. Abd al-Razzaq said: When Ibn al-Mubarak came to Mamar, he transmitted the traditions in a musnad form (with a perfect chain) which he transmitted as mauquf traditions (statements of the Companions and not of the Prophet).

حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ أُمَّ مُبَشِّرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ مَا يُتَّهَمُ بِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ فَإِنِّي لَا أَتَّهِمُ بِابْنِي شَيْئًا إِلَّا الشَّاةَ الْمَسْمُومَةَ الَّتِي أَكَلَ مَعَكَ بِخَيْبَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَا لَا أَتَّهِمُ بِنَفْسِي إِلَّا ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَهَذَا أَوَانُ قَطَعَتْ أَبْهَرِي ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَرُبَّمَا حَدَّثَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ مُرْسَلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرُبَّمَا حَدَّثَ بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَذَكَرَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ مَعْمَرًا كَانَ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ بِالْحَدِيثِ مَرَّةً مُرْسَلًا فَيَكْتُبُونَهُ وَيُحَدِّثُهُمْ مَرَّةً بِهِ فَيُسْنِدُهُ فَيَكْتُبُونَهُ وَكُلٌّ صَحِيحٌ عِنْدَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَلَى مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَسْنَدَ لَهُ مَعْمَرٌ أَحَادِيثَ كَانَ يُوقِفُهَا.

کعب بن مالک روایت کرتے ہیں کہ ام مبشر رضی اللہ عنہا نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس مرض میں جس میں آپ نے وفات پائی کہا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ کا شک کس چیز پر ہے؟ میرے بیٹے کے سلسلہ میں میرا شک تو اس زہر آلود بکری پر ہے جو اس نے آپ کے ساتھ خیبر میں کھائی تھی، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اپنے سلسلہ میں بھی میرا شک اسی پر ہے، اور اب یہ وقت آ چکا ہے کہ اس نے میری شہ رگ کاٹ دی ہے ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: عبدالرزاق نے کبھی اس حدیث کو معمر سے، معمر نے زہری سے، زہری نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مرسلاً روایت کیا ہے اور کبھی معمر نے اسے زہری سے اور، زہری نے عبدالرحمٰن بن کعب بن مالک کے واسطہ سے بیان کیا ہے۔ اور عبدالرزاق نے ذکر کیا ہے کہ معمر اس حدیث کو ان سے کبھی مرسلاً روایت کرتے تو وہ اسے لکھ لیتے اور کبھی مسنداً روایت کرتے تو بھی وہ اسے بھی لکھ لیتے، اور ہمارے نزدیک دونوں صحیح ہے۔ عبدالرزاق کہتے ہیں: جب ابن مبارک معمر کے پاس آئے تو معمر نے وہ تمام حدیثیں جنہیں وہ موقوفاً روایت کرتے تھے ان سے متصلًا روایت کیں۔

Narrated Abdur-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Kab bin Malik: On the authority of his mother than Umm Mubashshir said (Abu Saeed bin al-A'rabi said: So he said it on the authority of his mother ; what is correct is: on the authority of his father, instead of his mother): I entered upon the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He then mentioned the tradition of Makhlad bin Khalid in a way similar to the tradition of Jabir. The narrator said: Then Bishr bin al-Bara bin Ma'rur died. So he (the Prophet) sent for the Jewess and said: What did motivate you for your work you have done ? He (the narrator) then mentioned the rest of the tradition like the tradition of Jabir. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ordered regarding her and she was killed. He (the narrator in this version) did not mention cupping.

Narrated Samurah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم Said: If anyone kills his slave, we shall kill him, and if anyone cuts off the nose of his slave, we shall cut off his nose.

Narrated Qatadah: Through the same chain of narrators as mentioned before, i. e. Samurah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: If anyone castrates his slave, we shall castrate him. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition like that of Sh'ubah and Hammad. Abu Dawud said: Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi transmitted it from Hisham like the tradition of Muadh.

Qatadah transmitted the tradition mentioned above through a chain of narrators like that of Shubah. This version adds: Then al-Hasan forgot this tradition, and he used to say: A free man is not to be killed for a slave.

Narrated Amr bin Shuaib: On his father's authority, said that his grandfather told that a A man came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم crying for help. He said: His slave-girl, Messenger of Allah! He said: Woe to you, what happened with you ? He said that it was an evil one. He saw the slave-girl of his master; he became jealous of him, and cut off his penis. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Bring the man to me. The man was called, but people could not get control over him. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then said: Go away, you are free. He asked: Messenger of Allah! upon whom does my help lie? He replied: On every believer, or he said: On every Muslim. Abu Dawud said: The name of the man who was emancipated was Rawh bin Dinar Abu Dawud said: The man who cut off the penis was Zinba' Abu Dawud said: The Zinba' Abu Rawh was master of the slave.
