A man from among the companions of the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم reported him as saying: The people will not perish until their sins and faults become abundant, and there remains no excuse for them.
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا لَفْظُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ وَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَنْ يَهْلَكَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى يَعْذِرُوا أَوْ يُعْذِرُوا مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ .
ابوالبختری کہتے ہیں کہ   مجھے اس شخص نے خبر دی ہے جس نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا ہے، اور سلیمان کی روایت میں ہے کہ مجھ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اصحاب میں سے ایک شخص نے بیان کیا ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگ اس وقت تک ہلاک نہیں ہوں گے جب تک ان کے پاس کوئی عذر باقی نہ رہے یا وہ خود اپنا عذر زائل نہ کر لیں ۔

Abdullah bin Umar said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم led us in the night prayer one night towards the end of his life. When he uttered the salutation, he got up and said: Have you seen this night of yours ? No one of those who are on the surface of the earth will survive at the ends of one hundred years. Ibn Umar said: The people fell into fallacy by this statement of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم about the traditions they used to narrate concerning one hundred years. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: No one of those who are present today on the surface of the earth will survive, meaning when that century comes to and end.

Ikrimah said: Ali burned some people who retreated from islam. When Ibn Abbas was informed of it, he said: If it had been I, I would not have then burned, for the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Do not inflict Allah’s punishment on anyone, but would have had killed them on account of the statement of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. The Messenger said: Kill those who change their religion. When ‘All was informed about it he said: How truly Ibn Abbas said!

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم Said: The blood of a Muslim man who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Messenger should not lawfully be shed except only for one of three reasons: a man who committed fornication after marriage, in which case he should be stoned; one who goes forth to fight with Allah and His Messenger, in which case he should be killed or crucified or exiled from the land; or one who commits murder for which he is killed.
