Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: When the heat is violent, offer (the Zuhr) prayer when it becomes fairly cool, for the violent heat comes from the bubbling over the Hell.

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ اللَّيْثَ حَدَّثَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَبْرِدُوا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ ابْنُ مَوْهَبٍ:‏‏‏‏ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ.

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب گرمی کی شدت ہو تو نماز کو ٹھنڈی کر کے پڑھو، ( ابن موہب کی روایت میں «فأبردوا عن الصلاة» کے بجائے «فأبردوا بالصلاة» ہے ) ، کیونکہ گرمی کی شدت جہنم کی لپٹ سے ہے ۱؎۔

Narrated Ali ibn Shayban: We came upon the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم in Madina. He would postpone the afternoon prayer as long as the sun remained white and clear.
