Jabir bin Abdullah said: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade the use of (wine) vessels, Ansar said: They are inevitable for us. Thereupon he said: If so, then no

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْأَوْعِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهُ لَا بُدَّ لَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَا إذًا .

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے برتنوں کے استعمال سے منع فرمایا تو انصار کے لوگوں نے آپ سے عرض کیا: وہ تو ہمارے لیے بہت ضروری ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تب ممانعت نہیں رہی ( تمہیں ان کی اجازت ہے ) ۔
