Narrated Buraydah ibn al-Hasib: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If anyone takes an oath and says: I am free from Islam; now if he is a liar (in his oath), he will not return to Islam with soundness.

حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ وَاقِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ حَلَفَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ كَانَ كَاذِبًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ كَانَ صَادِقًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ سَالِمًا .

بریدہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو شخص قسم کھائے اور کہے میں اسلام سے بری ہوں ( اگر میں نے فلاں کام کیا ) اب اگر وہ جھوٹا ہے تو اس نے جیسا ہونے کو کہا ہے ویسا ہی ہو جائے گا، اور اگر سچا ہے تو بھی وہ اسلام میں سلامتی سے ہرگز واپس نہ آ سکے گا ۔
