Narrated Abud Darda: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If anyone takes land by (paying) its jizyah, he renounces his immigration; and if anyone takes off the disgrace of an unbeliever from his neck he turns away his back from Islam. He (the narrator) said: Thereafter Khalid ibn Madan heard this tradition from me, and he said: Has Shubayb narrated it to you? I said: Yes. He said! When you come to him, ask him to write this tradition to me. He said: He then wrote it for him. When I came, Khalid ibn Madan asked me for the paper and I gave it to him. When he read (the paper), he abandoned the lands he had in his possession the moment he heard this. Abu Dawud said: This Yazid bin Khumair al-Yazani is not the disciple of Shubah.

حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي سِنَانُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِيشَبِيبُ بْنُ نُعَيْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ أَخَذَ أَرْضًا بِجِزْيَتِهَا فَقَدِ اسْتَقَالَ هِجْرَتَهُ وَمَنْ نَزَعَ صَغَارَ كَافِرٍ مِنْ عُنُقِهِ فَجَعَلَهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ فَقَدْ وَلَّى الإِسْلَامَ ظَهْرَهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَسَمِعَ مِنِّي خَالِدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لِي:‏‏‏‏ أَشُبَيْبٌ حَدَّثَكَ ؟ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِذَا قَدِمْتَ فَسَلْهُ فَلْيَكْتُبْ إِلَيَّ بِالْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَكَتَبَهُ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ سَأَلَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ الْقِرْطَاسَ فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ فَلَمَّا قَرَأَهُ تَرَكَ مَا فِي يَدِهِ مِنَ الأَرْضِينَ حِينَ سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُمَيْرٍ الْيَزَنِيُّ لَيْسَ هُوَ صَاحِبَ شُعْبَةَ.

ابوالدرداء رضی اللہ عنہ کا بیان ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے جزیہ والی زمین خرید لی تو اس نے ( گویا ) اپنی ہجرت فسخ کر دی اور جس نے کسی کافر کی ذلت ( یعنی جزیہ کو ) اس کے گلے سے اتار کر اپنے گلے میں ڈال لیا ( یعنی جزیے کی زمین خرید لے کر زراعت کرنے لگا اور جزیہ دینا قبول کر لیا ) تو اس نے اسلام کو پس پشت ڈل دیا ۔ ( اس حدیث کے راوی سنان ) کہتے ہیں: خالد بن معدان نے یہ حدیث مجھ سے سنی تو انہوں نے کہا: کیا شبیب نے تم سے یہ حدیث بیان کی ہے؟ میں نے کہا: ہاں، انہوں نے کہا: جب تم شبیب کے پاس جاؤ تو ان سے کہو کہ وہ یہ حدیث مجھ کو لکھ بھیجیں۔ سنان کہتے ہیں: ( میں نے ان سے کہا ) تو شبیب نے یہ حدیث خالد کے لیے لکھ کر ( مجھ کو ) دی، پھر جب میں خالد بن معدان کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے قرطاس ( کاغذ ) مانگا میں نے ان کو دے دیا، جب انہوں نے اسے پڑھا، تو ان کے پاس جتنی خراج کی زمینیں تھیں سب چھوڑ دیں۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ یزید بن خمیر یزنی ہیں، شعبہ کے شاگرد نہیں ۱؎۔

Al Sab bin Jaththamah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying “There is no (permission for) protected land except for Allaah and His Prophet. Ibn Shihab said “It has reached me that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم protected Naqi’. ”

Narrated As-Sab ibn Jaththamah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم protected Naqi and said: There is no (permission for) protected land except for Allah Most High.

Narrated Dubaah daughter of az-Zubayr ibn Abdul Muttalib: Al-Miqdad went to Baqi' al-Khabkhabah for a certain need. He found a mouse taking out a dinar from a hole. It then continued to take out dinars one by one until it took out seventeen dinars. It then took out a red purse containing a dinar. There were thus eighteen dinars. He took them to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, informed him and said to him: Take its sadaqah. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم asked him: Did you extend your hand toward the hole? He replied: No. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then said: May Allah bless you in it.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: When we went out along with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم to at-Taif we passed a grave. I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: This is the grave of Abu Righal. He was in this sacred mosque (sanctuary) protecting himself (from punishment). When he came out, he suffered the same punishment which his people suffered at this place, and he was buried in it. The sign of it is that a golden bough was buried with him. If you dig it out, you will find it with him. The people hastened to it and took out the bough.
