Narrated Dhul-Jawshan: A man of ad-Dabab, said: When the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم became free from the people of Badr I brought to him a colt of my mare called al-Qarha' I said: Muhammad, I have brought a colt of a al-Qarha', so that you may take it. He said: I have no need of it. If you wish that I give you a select coat of mail from (the spoils of) Badr, I shall do it. I said: I cannot give you today a colt in exchange. He said: Then I have no need of it.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ذِي الْجَوْشَنِ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الضِّبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ أَنْ فَرَغَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ بِابْنِ فَرَسٍ لِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يُقَالُ لَهَا الْقَرْحَاءُ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنِّي قَدْ جِئْتُكَ بِابْنِ الْقَرْحَاءِ لِتَتَّخِذَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ أَقِيضَكَ بِهِ الْمُخْتَارَةَ مِنْ دُرُوعِ بَدْرٍ فَعَلْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ مَا كُنْتُ أَقِيضُهُ الْيَوْمَ بِغُرَّةٍ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهِ.
ذوالجوشن ابوشمر ضبابی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اہل بدر سے فارغ ہونے کے بعد آپ کے پاس اپنے قرحاء نامی گھوڑے کا بچھڑا لے کر آیا، اور میں نے کہا: محمد! میں آپ کے پاس قرحا کا بچہ لے کر آیا ہوں تاکہ آپ اسے اپنے استعمال میں رکھیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مجھے اس کی ضرورت نہیں ہے، البتہ اگر تم بدر کی زرہوں میں سے ایک زرہ اس کے بدلے میں لینا چاہو تو میں اسے لے لوں گا ، میں نے کہا: آج کے دن تو میں اس کے بدلے گھوڑا بھی نہ لوں گا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تو پھر مجھے بھی اس کی حاجت نہیں ۱؎ ۔

Do you know what the atirah is? It is what you call the Rajab sacrifice. Abu Dawud said: 'Atirah has been abrogated, and this tradition is an abrogated one.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: I have been commanded to celebrate festival ('Id) on the day of sacrifice, which Allah, Most High, has appointed for this community. A man said: If I do not find except a she-goat or a she-camel borrowed for milk or other benefits, should I sacrifice it? He said: No, but you should clip your hair, and nails, trim your moustaches, and shave your pubes. This is all your sacrifice in the eyes of Allah, Most High.

Narrated Umm Salamah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: If anyone has sacrificial animal and intends to sacrifice it, and he sights the new moon of Dhul-Hajjah, he must not take any of his hair and nails until he sacrifices Abu Dawud said: The name of Amr bin Muslim in the chain narrated by Malik and Muhammad bin Amr is disputed. Some say that it is Umar and the majority holds that it is Amr. Abu Dawud said: He is Amr bin Muslim bin Ukaimah al-Laithi al-Jundu'i.

Narrated Aishah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ordered a horned ram with black legs, black belly and black round the eyes, and it was brought from him to sacrifice. He said: Aishah, get the knife then he said: Sharpen it with a stone. So I did. He took it, then take the ram he placed it on the ground and slaughtered it. He then said: In the name of Allah. O Allah, accept it for Muhammad, Muhammad's family and Muhammad's people. Then he sacrificed it.
