Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: Umarah ibn Ghurab said that his paternal aunt narrated to him that she asked Aishah: What if one of us menstruates and she and her husband have no bed except one? She replied: I relate to you what the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم had done. One night he entered (upon me) while I was menstruating. He went to the place of his prayer, that is, to the place of prayer reserved (for this purpose) in his house. He did not return until I felt asleep heavily, and he felt pain from cold. And he said: Come near me. I said: I am menstruating. He said: Uncover your thighs. I, therefore, uncovered both of my thighs. Then he put his cheek and chest on my thighs and I lent upon he until he became warm and slept.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ بْنِ غَانِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غُرَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَال:‏‏‏‏ إِنّ عَمَّة لَهُ حَدَّثَتْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ إِحْدَانَا تَحِيضُ وَلَيْسَ لَهَا وَلِزَوْجِهَا إِلَّا فِرَاشٌ وَاحِدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ أُخْبِرُكِ بِمَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏دَخَلَ لَيْلا وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمَضَى إِلَى مَسْجِدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ تَعْنِي مَسْجِدَ بَيْتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يَنْصَرِفْ حَتَّى غَلَبَتْنِي عَيْنِي وَأَوْجَعَهُ الْبَرْدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ادْنِي مِنِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي حَائِضٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَإِنْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اكْشِفِي عَنْ فَخِذَيْكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَشَفْتُ فَخِذَيَّ فَوَضَعَ خَدَّهُ وَصَدْرَهُ عَلَى فَخِذِي وَحَنَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى دَفِئَ وَنَامَ .

عمارہ بن غراب کہتے ہیں: ان کی پھوپھی نے ان سے بیان کیا کہ انہوں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کہ ہم میں سے ایک عورت کو حیض آتا ہے، اور اس کے اور اس کے شوہر کے پاس صرف ایک ہی بچھونا ہے ( ایسی صورت میں وہ حائضہ عورت کیا کرے؟ ) ، ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: میں تمہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا عمل بتاتی ہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم گھر میں تشریف لائے اور اپنی نماز پڑھنے کی جگہ میں چلے گئے ( ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: مسجد سے مراد گھر کے اندر نماز کی جگہ مصلی ہے ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے نماز سے فارغ ہونے سے پہلے پہلے مجھے نیند آ گئی، ادھر آپ کو سردی نے ستایا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم میرے قریب آ جاؤ ، تو میں نے کہا: میں حائضہ ہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم اپنی ران کھولو ، میں نے اپنی رانیں کھول دیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنا رخسار اور سینہ میری ران پر رکھ دیا، میں اوپر سے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر جھک گئی، یہاں تک کہ آپ کو گرمی پہنچ گئی، اور سو گئے۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: When I menstruated, I left the bed and lay on the reed-mat and did not approach or come near the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم until we were purified.

Narrated One of the Wives of the Prophet: Ikrimah reported on the authority of one of the wives of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم saying: When the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم wanted to do something (i. e. kissing, embracing) with (his) menstruating wife, he would put a garment on her private part.

Aishah said; The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم would ask us in the beginning of our menstruation to tie the waist-wrapper. Then he would embrace us. And who amongst you can have as much control over his desire as the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم had over his desire?

Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Muminin: In the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم there was a woman who had an issue of blood. So Umm Salamah asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم to give a decision about her. He said: She should consider the number of nights and days during which she used to menstruate each month before she was afflicted with this trouble and abandon prayer during that period each month. When those days and nights are over, she should take a bath, tie a cloth over her private parts and pray.

Sulaiman bin Yasar said that a man reported to him from Umm Salamah; There was a woman who had an issue of blood. And he narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect saying; when the menstruation period is over and the time of prayer arrives, she should take a bath, as mentioned in the previous tradition.

Sulaiman bin Yasar reported on the authority of a person from the Ansar; There was a woman who had an issue of blood. He then narrated the rest of the tradition like that of al-Laith. He said; when the period of menstruation is over and the time of prayer arrives, she should take a bath. He narrated the tradition conveying the same meaning.
