Narrated Malik: One should not exceed al-Muarras when one returns to Madina until one prays there as much as one wishes, for I have been informed that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم halted there at night. Abu Dawud said: I heard Muhammad bin Ishaq al-Madini say: Al-Muarras lies at a distance of six miles from Madina.
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ مَالِكٌ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يُجَاوِزَ الْمُعَرَّسِ إِذَا قَفَلَ رَاجِعًا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ فِيهَا مَا بَدَا لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِأَنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَرَّسَ بِهِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ الْمَدَنِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْمُعَرَّسُ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَمْيَالٍ مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ.
مالک کہتے ہی   جب کوئی مدینہ واپس لوٹے اور معرس پہنچے تو اس کے لیے مناسب نہیں ہے کہ وہ آگے بڑھے جب تک کہ نماز نہ پڑھ لے جتنا اس کا جی چاہے اس لیے کہ مجھے یہ بات معلوم ہوئی ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وہاں رات کو قیام کیا تھا۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: میں نے محمد بن اسحاق مدنی کو کہتے سنا: معرس مدینہ سے چھ میل کے فاصلے پر ایک مقام ہے۔

Alqamah said “I was going with Abd Allaah bin Masud at Mina where Uthman met him and desired to have a talk with him in privacy”. When Abd Allaah (bin Masud) thought there was no need of privacy, he said to me “Come, Alqamah So I came (to him)”. Then Uthman said to him “Should we not marry you, Abu Abd Al Rahman to a virgin girl, so that the power you have lost may return to you?” Abd Allaah (bin Masud) said “If you say that, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say “ Those of you who can support a wife, should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserve from unlawful intercourse, but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.

He said: No. He came again to him, but he prohibited him. He came to him third time, and he (the Prophet) said: Marry women who are loving and very prolific, for I shall outnumber the peoples by you.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: Marthad ibn Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi used to take prisoners (of war) from Makkah (to Madina). At Makkah there was a prostitute called Inaq who had illicit relations with him. (Marthad said: ) I came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and said to him: May I marry Inaq, Messenger of Allah? The narrator said: He kept silence towards me. Then the verse was revealed: . . . . and the adulteress none shall marry save and adulterer or an idolater. He called me and recited this (verse) to me, and said: Do not marry her.
