Narrated Kathir bin Kathir bin al-Muttalib bin Abi Wida'ah From his people on the authority of his grandfather: He saw that the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was praying at the place adjacent to the gate of Banu Sahm and the people were passing before him, and there was no covering (sutrah) between them. The narrator Sufyan said: There was no covering between him and the Kabah. Sufyan said: Ibn Juraij reported us stating that Kathir reported on the authority of his father saying: I did not hear my father say, but I heard some of my people on the authority of my grandfather.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بَعْضِأَهْلِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِمَّا يَلِي بَابَ بَنِي سَهْمٍ وَالنَّاسُ يَمُرُّونَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا سُتْرَةٌ . قَالَ سُفْيَانُ:‏‏‏‏ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَةِ سُتْرَةٌ. قَالَ سُفْيَانُ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنَا كُثَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَسَأَلْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَبِي سَمِعْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنْ مِنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّي.
مطلب بن ابی وداعہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   انہوں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو باب بنی سہم کے پاس نماز پڑھتے دیکھا، لوگ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے سے گزر رہے تھے بیچ میں کوئی سترہ نہ تھا ۱؎۔ سفیان کے الفاظ یوں ہیں: ان کے اور کعبہ کے درمیان کوئی سترہ نہ تھا۔ سفیان کہتے ہیں: ابن جریج نے ان کے بارے میں ہمیں بتایا کہ کثیر نے اپنے والد سے روایت کی ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے ان سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے جواب دیا میں نے اسے اپنے والد سے نہیں سنا، بلکہ گھر کے کسی فرد سے سنا اور انہوں نے میرے دادا سے روایت کی ہے۔

Abu Hurairah said “When Allah, the Exalted, granted the conquest of Makkah to his Messenger, the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم stood among them (the people) and praised Allaah and extolled Him. He then said, Verily Allaah stopped the Elephant from Makkah, and gave His Messenger and the believers sway upon it and it has been made lawful for me only for one hour on one day then it will remain sacred till the Day of Resurrection. Its trees are not to be cut, its game is not to be molested and the things dropped there are to be picked up only by one who publicly announces it. Abbas or Al Abbas suggested “Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم except the rush (idhkir) for it is useful for our graves and our houses. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said “Except the rush. ” Abu Dawud said “Ibn Al Musaffa added on the authority of Al Walid Abu Shah a man from the people of the Yemen stood and said “Give me in writing, Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم”. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said “Give in writing to Abu Shah. I said to Al Awza’i “What does the statement mean? Give Abu Shah in writing?” He said “This was an address which he heard from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. ”

Bakr bin Abdullah said “A man said to Ibn Abbas “What about the people of this House? They supply Nabidh to the public while their cousins provide milk, honey and mush (sawiq). Is this due to their niggardliness or need? Ibn Abbas replied “This is due neither to our niggardliness nor to our need, but the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم (once) entered upon us on his riding beast and ‘Usamah bin Zaid was sitting behind him. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم called for drink. Nabidh was brought to him and he drank from it and gave its left over to Usamah bin Zaid who drank from it. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then said “You have done a good and handsome deed and do it in a similar way. It is due to this we are doing so, we do not want to change what the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلمhad said.
