Narrated Abu Saeed al-Khudri: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم passed by a boy who was skinning a goat. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Give it up until I show you. He (the Prophet) inserted his hand between the skin and the flesh until it reached the armpit. He then went away and led the people in prayer and he did not perform ablution. The version of Amr added that he did not touch water. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated though another chain of transmitters, making no mention of Abu Saeed.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْحِمْصِيُّ المعنى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّقِّيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا هِلَالُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الْجُهَنِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ هِلَالٌ:‏‏‏‏ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ أَيُّوبُ وَعَمْرٌو أراه عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِغُلَامٍ وَهُوَ يَسْلُخُ شَاةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ تَنَحَّ حَتَّى أُرِيَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ بَيْنَ الْجِلْدِ وَاللَّحْمِ فَدَحَسَ بِهَا حَتَّى تَوَارَتْ إِلَى الْإِبْطِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ مَضَى فَصَلَّى لِلنَّاسِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ زَادَ عَمْرٌو فِي حَدِيثِهِ يَعْنِي لَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الرَّمْلِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مُرْسَلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَمْ يَذْكُرْا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ.

ابوسعید رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا گزر ایک لڑکے کے پاس سے ہوا، وہ ایک بکری کی کھال اتار رہا تھا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے فرمایا: تم ہٹ جاؤ، میں تمہیں ( عملی طور پر کھال اتار کر ) دکھاتا ہوں ، چنانچہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنا ہاتھ کھال اور گوشت کے درمیان داخل کیا، اور اسے دبایا یہاں تک کہ آپ کا ہاتھ بغل تک چھپ گیا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لے گئے، اور لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی اور ( پھر سے ) وضو نہیں کیا۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: عمرو نے اپنی روایت میں اتنا اضافہ کیا ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پانی چھوا تک نہیں، نیز عمرو نے اپنی روایت میں «أخبرنا هلال بن ميمون الجهني» کے بجائے«عن هلال بن ميمون الرملي» ( بصیغہ عنعنہ ) کہا ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اور اسے عبدالواحد بن زیاد اور ابومعاویہ نے ہلال سے، ہلال نے عطاء سے، عطاء نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مرسلاً روایت کیا ہے، اور ابوسعید ( صحابی ) کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے۔

Jabir narrated: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم passed by the market when on his return from one of the villages of Aliyah. People accompanied him from both sides. One the way he found a dead kid with both its ears joined together. He caught hold of it by its ear. He then said: Which of you likes to take it ? The narrator transmitted the tradition in full.

Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم took (the meat of) a (goat's) shoulder and offered prayer and did not perform ablution.

Narrated Al-Mughirah ibn Shubah: One night I became the guest of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He ordered that a piece of mutton be roasted, and it was roasted. He then took a knife and began to cut the meat with it for me. In the meantime Bilal came and called him for prayer. He threw the knife and said: What happened! may his hands be smeared with earth! He then stood for offering prayer. Al-Anbari added: My moustaches became lengthy. He trimmed them by placing a took-stick; or he said: I shall trim your moustaches by placing the tooth-stick there. Al-Anbari said: My moustaches became lengthy. He trimmed them by placing a tooth-stick ; or he said: I shall trim your moustaches by placing the tooth-stick there.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم took a shoulder (of goat's meat) and after wiping his hand with a cloth on which he was sitting, he got up and prayed.

Ibn Abbas said: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ate a little meat from a (goat's) shoulder. He then offered prayer and did not perform ablution.

Muhammad bin al-Munkadir said: I heard Jabir bin Abdullah say: I presented bread and meat to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He ate them and called for ablution water. he performed ablution and offered the noon (Dhuhr) prayer. He then called for the remaining food and ate it. He then got up and prayed and did not perform ablution.
