Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: Riders would pass us when we accompanied the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم while we were in the sacred state (wearing ihram). When they came by us, one of us would let down her outer garment from her head over her face, and when they had passed on, we would uncover our faces.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ الرُّكْبَانُ يَمُرُّونَ بِنَا وَنَحْنُ مَع رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحْرِمَاتٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا حَاذَوْا بِنَا سَدَلَتْ إِحْدَانَا جِلْبَابَهَا مِنْ رَأْسِهَا عَلَى وَجْهِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا جَاوَزُونَا كَشَفْنَاهُ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ سوار ہمارے سامنے سے گزرتے اور ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ احرام باندھے ہوتے، جب سوار ہمارے سامنے آ جاتے تو ہم اپنے نقاب اپنے سر سے چہرے پر ڈال لیتے اور جب وہ گزر جاتے تو ہم اسے کھول لیتے۔

Umm al Hussain said We performed the Farewell Pilgrimage along with the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. I saw Usamah and Bilal one of them holding the halter of the she-Camel of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, while the other raising his garment and sheltering from the heat till he had thrown pebbles at the jamrah of the ‘Aqabah.

Nubaih bin Wahb said Umar bin Ubaid Allah bin Mamar had a complaint in his eyes. He sent (someone) to Aban bin Uthman - the narrator Sufyan said that he was the chief of pilgrims during the season of Hajj – asking him what he should do with them. He said Apply aloes to them, for I heard ‘Uthaman narrating this on the authority of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.
