Ibn Abbas said the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was at al-Rawha. There he met some riders. He saluted them and asked who they were. They replied that they were Muslims. They asked who are you. They (the companions) replied he is the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. A woman became upset: she took her child by his arm and lifted him from her litter at the camel. She said Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم can this (child) be credited with having performed Hajj. He replied Yes, and you will have a reward.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالرَّوْحَاءِ فَلَقِيَ رَكْبًا فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنِ الْقَوْمُ ؟ فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ الْمُسْلِمُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ فَمَنْ أَنْتُمْ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَفَزِعَتِ امْرَأَةٌ فَأَخَذَتْ بِعَضُدِ صَبِيٍّ فَأَخْرَجَتْهُ مِنْ مِحَفَّتِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَلْ لِهَذَا حَجٌّ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ وَلَكِ أَجْرٌ .

بداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مقام روحاء میں تھے کہ آپ کو کچھ سوار ملے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں سلام کیا اور پوچھا: کون لوگ ہو؟ ، انہوں نے جواب دیا: ہم مسلمان ہیں، پھر ان لوگوں نے پوچھا: آپ کون ہو؟ لوگوں نے انہیں بتایا کہ آپ اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہیں تو ایک عورت گھبرا گئی پھر اس نے اپنے بچے کا بازو پکڑا اور اسے اپنے محفے ۱؎ سے نکالا اور بولی: اللہ کے رسول! کیا اس کا بھی حج ہو جائے گا ۲؎؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ہاں، اور اجر تمہارے لیے ہے ۔

Ibn Umar said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم appointed the following places for putting on Ihram: Dhul al-Hulaifah for the people of Madina, al-Juhfah for the people of Syria and al-Qarn for the people of Najd and have been told that appointed Yalamlam for the people of Yemen.

Ibn Abbas and Tawus reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم appointed places for putting on Ihram and narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect (as mentioned above). One of them said and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. The other narrator said Alamlam. These (places for Ihram) are appointed for these regions and for people of other regions who come to them intending to perform Hajj and Umrah. The place where those who live nearer to Makkah should put on Ihram from where they start and so on up to the inhabitants of Makkah itself who put on Ihram in it. This is the version of Ibn Tawus.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم appointed Dhat Irq as the place for putting on ihram for the people of Iraq.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم appointed al-Aqiq as the place for putting on ihram for the people of East.

Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Muminin: She heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: If anyone puts on ihram for hajj or Umrah from the Aqsa mosque to the sacred mosque, his former and latter sins will be forgiven, or he will be guaranteed Paradise. The narrator Abdullah doubted which of these words he said. Abu Dawud said: May Allah have mercy on Waki. He put on ihram from Jerusalem (Aqsa mosque), that is, to Makkah.

Narrated Al-Harith ibn Amr as-Sahmi: I came to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم when he was at Mina, or at Arafat. He was surrounded by the people. When the bedouins came and saw his face, they would say: This is a blessed face. He said: He (the Prophet) appointed Dhat Irq as the place of putting on ihram for the people of Iraq.
