Anas reported: A person came to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He performed ablution and left a small part equal to the space of a nail upon his foot. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to him: Go back and perform ablution well. Abu Dawud said: This tradition is not known through Jarir bin Hazim. It was transmitted only by Ibn Wahab. Another version adds the wording: “ Go back and perform the ablution well. ”
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ قَتَادَةَ بْنَ دِعَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ تَوَضَّأَ وَتَرَكَ عَلَى قَدَمِهِ مِثْلَ مَوْضِعِ الظُّفْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ ارْجِعْ فَأَحْسِنْ وُضُوءَكَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَيْسَ بِمَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَرْوِهِ إِلَّا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ وَحْدَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ،‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏نَحْوَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ارْجِعْ فَأَحْسِنْ وُضُوءَكَ.
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس وضو کر کے آیا، اس نے اپنے پاؤں میں ناخن کے برابر جگہ ( خشک ) چھوڑ دی تھی، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے فرمایا: تم واپس جاؤ اور اچھی طرح وضو کرو ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: جریر بن حازم سے مروی یہ حدیث معروف نہیں ہے، اسے صرف ابن وہب نے روایت کیا ہے، اس جیسی حدیث معقل بن عبیداللہ جزری سے بھی مروی ہے، معقل ابوزبیر سے، ابوزبیر جابر سے، جابر عمر سے، اور عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں، اس میں ہے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم واپس جاؤ اور اچھی طرح وضو کرو ۔

Narrated Some Companions of the Prophet: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم saw a person offering prayer, and on the back of his foot a small part equal to the space of a dirham remained unwashed; the water did not reach it. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم commanded him to repeat the ablution and prayer.

Abbad bin Tamim reported from his uncle that a person made a complaint to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم that he entertained (doubt) as if something had happened to him which had rendered his ablution invalid. He (the Prophet) said: He should not cease (to pray) unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell (of passing wind).

Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If any one of you offers prayer and feels a movement between his paddocks, but is doubtful whether or not his ablution broke, he should not cease praying unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم kissed me and did not perform ablution. Abu Dawud said: This tradition is Mursal (i. e. where the link of the Companions is missing and the Successor reports from the Prophet directly). Ibrahim at-Taimi did not hear anything from Aishah. Abu Dawud said: Al-Firyabi and other narrated this tradition in a like manner.

Aishah reported: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم kissed one of his wives and went out for saying prayer. He did not perform ablution. Urwah said: I said to her: Who is she except you! Thereupon she laughed. Abu Dawud said: The same version has been reported through a different chain of narrators.
