Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying (this is the version of the narrator Ibn al-Sabbah): If anyone of you prays after the Friday prayer, he should say for rak'ahs. According to the version of the narrator Ibn Yunus, the tradition goes: When you have offered the Friday prayer, pray after it four rak'ahs. He said: My father said to me: My son, if you have said two rak'ahs in the mosque, then you comes to your house, pray two rak'ahs more.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ. ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّازُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ ابْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَانَ مُصَلِّيًا بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيُصَلِّ أَرْبَعًا وَتَمَّ حَدِيثُهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ ابْنُ يُونُسَ: إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمُ الْجُمُعَةَ فَصَلُّوا بَعْدَهَا أَرْبَعًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ لِي أَبِي:‏‏‏‏ يَا بُنَيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ صَلَّيْتَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ أَتَيْتَ الْمَنْزِلَ أَوِ الْبَيْتَ فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ.
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ( محمد بن صباح کی روایت میں ہے ) جو شخص جمعہ کے بعد پڑھنا چاہے تو وہ چار رکعتیں پڑھے، اور راوی نے پوری حدیث بیان کی۔ اور احمد بن یونس کی روایت میں یہ ہے کہ جب تم نماز جمعہ پڑھ چکو تو اس کے بعد چار رکعتیں پڑھو۔ سہیل کہتے ہیں: میرے والد ابوصالح نے مجھ سے کہا: میرے بیٹے! اگر تم نے مسجد میں دو رکعت پڑھ لی ہے پھر گھر آئے ہو تو ( گھر پر ) دو رکعت اور پڑھو۔

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: Ibn Jurayj said: Ata told me that he saw Ibn Umar pray after the Friday prayer. He moved a little from the place where he offered the Friday prayer. Then he would pray two rak'ahs. He then walked far away from that place and would offer four rak'ahs. I asked Ata: How many times did you see Ibn Umar do that? He replied: Many times. Abu Dawud said: This has been narrated by AbdulMalik ibn Abu Sulayman, but did not narrate it completely.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to Madina, the people had two days on which they engaged in games. He asked: What are these two days (what is the significance)? They said: We used to engage ourselves on them in the pre-Islamic period. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allah has substituted for them something better than them, the day of sacrifice and the day of the breaking of the fast.
