Anas bin Malik said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to offer the Friday prayer when the sun declined.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ التَّيْمِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الْجُمُعَةَ إِذَا مَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ .

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جمعہ سورج ڈھلنے کے بعد پڑھتے تھے۔

Salamah bin al-Akwa reported on the authority of his father: We used to offer the Friday prayer along with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and return (to our homes) while no shade of the walls was seen (at that time).

Sahl bin Saad said: We had a siesta or lunch after the Friday prayer.

Al-Saib bin Yazid said: During the time of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and Abu Bakr and Umar the call to the Friday prayer was first made at the time when the imam was seated on the pulpit (for giving the sermon). When the time of Uthman came, and the people became abundant, Uthman ordered to make a third call to the Friday prayer. It was made on al-Zaura (a house in Madina). The rule of action continued to the same effect.

Saeed bin Yazid said: The call to the (Friday) prayer was made at the gate of the mosque in front of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم when he sat on the pulpit, and of Abu Bakr and Umar. The narrator then repeated the same tradition as reported by Yunus.

Saib said: There was no other muadhdhin (pronouncer) of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم except Bilal. The narrator then reported the tradition to the same effect.
