Ibn Abbas reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: If anyone wants to have his deeds widely publicised, Allah will publicise (his humiliation). And if anyone makes a hypocritical display (of his deeds) Allah will make a display of him.

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ سُمَيْعٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَمَّعَ سَمَّعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ وَمَنْ رَاءَى رَاءَى اللَّهُ بِهِ

حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " جو شخص ( اپناعمل لوگوں کو ) سناتا ہے اللہ اس کے بارے میں ( ہونے والا فیصلہ ) لوگوں کو سنائے گا ( اور اسے رسواکرے گا ) اور جو ( لوگوں کو ) دکھاتا پھرتا ہے اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے بارے میں لوگوں کو دکھا دے گا ۔ ( کہ اس کا انجام کیا ہوا )

Jundub reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: He who wants to publicise (his deeds), Allah will publicise (his humility), and he who makes a hypocritical display (of his deeds), Allah will make a display of him.

Sufyan reported this hadith with the same chain of transmitters and he made this addition: I did not hear anyone saying besides him that it was Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) who had said so.

Salama b. Kuhail reported: I heard from Jundub, but I did not hear him say this: I heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) saying this.

Abu Huraira reported that he heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: The servant speaks words for which he is sent down to the Hell-Fire farther than the distance between the east and the west.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: The servant speaks words that he does not understand its repercussions but he sinks down in Hell-Fire farther than the distance between the east and the west.
