Translation

A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to make these supplications: O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the trial of Hell-Fire; and from the torment of Hell-Fire; and from the trial of the grave and torment of the grave; and from the evil of the trial of the affluence and from the evil of the trial of poverty and I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of the turmoil of the Dajjal. O Allah, wash away my sins with snow and hail water, purify my heart from the sins as is purified the white garment from the dirt, and keep away at a distance the sins from me as yawns the distance between the East and the West; O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from sloth, from senility, from sin, and from debt.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلَاءِ الدَّعَوَاتِ اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْغِنَى وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْفَقْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْ خَطَايَايَ بِمَاءِ الثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّ قَلْبِي مِنْ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْأَبْيَضَ مِنْ الدَّنَسِ وَبَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْكَسَلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ

ابن نمیر نے کہا : ہمیں ہشام نے اپنے والد ( عروہ ) سے اور انہوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( اللہ تعالیٰ سے ) یہ دعائیں مانگا کرتے تھے : " اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ میں آتا ہوں آگ کے فتنے سے اور آگ کے عذاب سے اور غنا کی آزمائش کے شر سے اور فقر کی آزمائش کے شر سے اور میں تیری پناہ میں آتا ہوں جھوٹے مسیح کے فتنے کی برائی سے ۔ اے اللہ! میری خطائیں برف اور اولوں ( کے پانی ) سے دھودے ، اور میرے دل کو خطاؤں سے اس طرح صاف ستھرا کر دے جس طرح تو سفید کپڑے کو میل سے صاف کرتا ہے اور میرے اور میری خطاؤں کے درمیان اتنا فاصلہ ڈال دے جتنا فاصلہ تو نے مشرق اور مغرب کے درمیان ڈالا ہے ۔ اے اللہ! میں سستی ، عاجز کر دینے والے بڑھاپے ، گناہ اور قرج ( کے غلبے ) سے تیری پناہ میں آتا ہوں ۔ "

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to seek refuge in Allah from such things as mentioned in the above-mentioned hadith and from 'miserliness too.

It was narrated from Abu Huraira that: Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to seek refuge (in Allah) from the evil of what has been decreed, from misery, from the mockery of (triumphant) enemies, and from severe calamity. `Amr (one of the narrators) said in his narration: Sufyan said: 'I fear I may have added one of them (the phrases).
