This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Anas through another chain of transmitters.

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْيَشْكُرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِ

عمرو بن مرہ نے سالم بن ابی جعد سے ، انہوں نے حضرت انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے اور انہوں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اسی کے مانند روایت کی ۔

Abdullah reported that a person came to Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and said to Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ): What is your opinion about the person who loves the people but his (acts or deeds are not identical to theirs)? Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: A person would be along with one whom he loves.
