A'isha, the wife of Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), reported that he used to say: Never a prophet dies in a state that he is not made to see his abode in Paradise, and then given a choice. 'A'isha said that when Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) was about to leave the world, his head was over her thigh and he had fallen into swoon three times. When he felt relief his eyes were fixed at the ceiling. He then said: O Allah, along with the high companions (i. e. along with the Apostles who live in the most elevated place of the Paradise). (On hearing these words), I then said (to myself) He is not going to opt us and I remembered a hadith which he had narrated to us as he was healthy and in which he said: No prophet dies until he sees his abode in Paradise, he is then given a choice. 'A'isha said: These were the last words which Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) spoke (the words are): O Allah, with companions on High.

حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَعُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، فِي رِجَالٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ: «إِنَّهُ لَمْ يُقْبَضْ نَبِيٌّ قَطُّ حَتَّى يُرَى مَقْعَدُهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ثُمَّ يُخَيَّرُ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَأْسُهُ عَلَى فَخِذِي غُشِيَ عَلَيْهِ سَاعَةً، ثُمَّ أَفَاقَ فَأَشْخَصَ بَصَرَهُ إِلَى السَّقْفِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «اللهُمَّ الرَّفِيقَ الْأَعْلَى» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: قُلْتُ: إِذًا لَا يَخْتَارُنَا. قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: وَعَرَفْتُ الْحَدِيثَ الَّذِي كَانَ يُحَدِّثُنَا بِهِ وَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ فِي قَوْلِهِ: «إِنَّهُ لَمْ يُقْبَضْ نَبِيٌّ قَطُّ حَتَّى يَرَى مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ، ثُمَّ يُخَيَّرُ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَكَانَتْ تِلْكَ آخِرُ كَلِمَةٍ تَكَلَّمَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَوْلَهُ: «اللهُمَّ الرَّفِيقَ الْأَعْلَى»

ابن شہاب نے کہا : مجھے سعید بن مسیب اور عروہ بن زبیر نے بہت سے اہل علم لوگوں کی مو جو دگی میں خبردی کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اہلیہ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنی تندرستی کے زمانے میں فرما یا کرتے تھے ۔ "" کسی نبی کی روح اس وقت تک قبض نہیں کی جا تی ۔ یہاں تک کہ اسے جنت میں اپنا مقام دکھا دیا جا تا ہے ، پھر اس کو اختیا ر دیا جا تا ہے ۔ "" حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے کہا : جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی رحلت کا وقت آیا اور اس وقت آپ کاسر میرے زانو پر تھا ۔ آپ کچھ دیر غشی طاری رہی پھر آپ کو افاقہ ہوا تو آپ نے چھت کی طرف نگا ہیں اٹھا ئیں ، پھر فر ما یا : "" اے اللہ !رفیق اعلیٰ! "" حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے کہا : میں نے ( دل میں ) ) کہا : اب آپ ہمیں نہیں چنیں گے ۔ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے فر ما یا : اور میں نے وہ حدیث پہچان لی جو آپ ہم سے بیان فر ما یا کرتے تھے ۔ وہ آپ کےاپنے الفاظ میں بالکل صحیح تھی : کسی نبی کو اس وقت تک کبھی موت نہیں آئی یہاں تک کہ اسے جنت میں اس کا ٹھکا نا دکھایا جا تا ہے اور اسے ( موت کو قبول کرنے یا مؤخرکرانے کا ) اختیار دیا جا تا ہے ۔ "" حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے کہا : آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ فر ما ن : "" اے اللہ !رفیق اعلیٰ ! "" وہ آخری بات تھی جو آپ نے کہی ۔

A'isha reported that when Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) set ont on a journey, he used to cast lots amongst his wives. Once this lot came out in my favour and that of Hafsa. They (Hafsi, and 'A'isha) both went along with him and Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to travel (on camel) when it was night along with 'A'isha and talked with her. Hafsa said to 'A'isha: Would you like to ride upon my camel tonight and allow me to ride upon your camel and you would see (what you do not generally see) and I would see (what I do not see) generally? She said: Yes. So 'A'isha rode upon the camel of Hafsa and Hafsa rode upon the camel of 'A'isha and Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) came near the camel of 'A'isha. (whereas) Hafsa had been riding over that. He greeted her and then rode with her until they came down. She ('A'isha) thus missed (the company of the Holy Prophet) and when they sat down, 'A'isha felt jealous. She put her foot in the grass and said: O Allah, let the scorpion sting me or the serpent bite me. And so far as thy Messenger is concerned, I cannot say anything about him.

Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: The excellence of 'A'isha over women is like the excellence of Tharid over all other foods.

A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said to her: Gabriel offered you greetings and I said: So there should be peace and mercy of Allah upon him.
