Translation

A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) laid down on bed during one night on his arrival at Medina and said: Were there a pious person from amongst my Companions who should keep a watch for me durin. the night? She (A'isha) reported: We were in this state that we heard the clanging noise of arms. lie (the Holy Prophet) said: Who is it? He said: This is Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said to him: What brings you here? Thereupon he said: I harboured fear (lest any harm should come to) Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), so I came to serve as your sentinel. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) invoked blessings upon him. He then slept. This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Ibn Rumh with a slight variation of wording.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَهِرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَقْدَمَهُ الْمَدِينَةَ، لَيْلَةً، فَقَالَ: «لَيْتَ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِي يَحْرُسُنِي اللَّيْلَةَ» قَالَتْ: فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ كَذَلِكَ سَمِعْنَا خَشْخَشَةَ سِلَاحٍ، فَقَالَ: «مَنْ هَذَا؟» قَالَ: سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا جَاءَ بِكَ؟» قَالَ: وَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي خَوْفٌ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَجِئْتُ أَحْرُسُهُ، فَدَعَا لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ نَامَ. وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ رُمْحٍ فَقُلْنَا: مَنْ هَذَا؟

قتیبہ بن سعید اور محمد بن رمح نے لیث سے حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے یحییٰ بن سعید سے ، انھوں نے عبداللہ بن عامر بن ربیعہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے فرمایا : کہ ایک رات مدینہ کے راستے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی آنکھ کھل گئی اور نیند اچاٹ ہو گئی ، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ کاش میرے اصحاب میں سے کوئی نیک بخت رات بھر میری حفاظت کرے ۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ اتنے میں ہمیں ہتھیاروں کی آواز معلوم ہوئی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ کون ہے؟ آواز آئی کہ یا رسول اللہ! سعد بن ابی وقاص ہوں ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم کیوں آئے؟ وہ بولے کہ مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر اپنے نفس میں ڈر ہوا تو میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی حفاظت کرنے کو آیا ہوں ۔ پس رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے لئے دعا کی اور پھر سو رہے ۔

Abdullah b. 'Amir b. Rabi reported A'isha as saying: Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) went to bed one night; the rest of the hadith is the same.

Abdullah b. Shaddad reported that he heard `Ali saying: Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) did not gather his parents except in case of Sa`d b. Malik that he said to him on the Day of Uhud: Shoot an arrow, may my father and mother be taken as ransom for you.

Amir b. Sa'd reported oLi the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) gathered for him on the Day of Uhud his parents when a polytheist had set fire to (i. e. attacked fiercely) the Muslims. Thereupon Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said to him: (Sa'd), shoot an arrow, (Sa'd), may my mother and father be taken as ransom for you. I drew an arrow and I shot a featherless arrow at him aiming his side that lie fell down and his private parts were exposed. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) laughed that I saw his front teeth.
