Ibn Sirin reported: I asked Anas b. Malik whether Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) dyed his hair. He said: He had not reached the stage when (he needed) dyeing (of his white hair). He had a few white hair in his beard. I said to him: Did Abu Bakr dye his hair? He said: Yes, with hina' (henna).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّاءَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَضَبَ؟ فَقَالَ: «لَمْ يَبْلُغِ الْخِضَابَ كَانَ فِي لِحْيَتِهِ شَعَرَاتٌ بِيضٌ» قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ: أَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَخْضِبُ؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ

عاصم احول نے ابن سیرین سے روایت کی ، کہا : میں نےحضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سوال کیا : کیا ر سول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بالوں کو رنگ لگایاتھا؟انھوں نے کہا : آپ رنگنے کے مرحلے تک نہیں پہنچے تھے ، کہا : آپ کی داڑھی میں چند ہی بال سفید تھے ۔ میں نے کہا : کیا حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ رنگتے تھے؟انھوں نے کہا : ہاں ، وہ مہندی اور کتم سے رنگتے تھے ۔

Muhammad b. Sirin reported: I asked Anas b. Malik whether Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) dyed his hair. He said: He had but little white hair.

Thabit reported that Anas b. Malik was asked about the dyeing (of the hair of) Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ). Thereupon he said.: (They were so few) that if I so liked I could count their number in his head, and he further said: (That is) he did not dye. Abu Bakr, however, dyed them and so did 'Umar dye them with pure henna.

Anas b. Malik did not like that a person should pick out his white hair from his head or beard, and Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) did not dye, and there was some whiteness in his hair at his chin, on his temples and very little on his head.

Anas (b. Malik) was asked about the old age of Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ). He said: Allah did not blemish him with white hair.

Abu Juhaifa reported: I saw Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) having some whiteness (in hair) at this place, and Zuhair placed one of his fingers at his chin. Juhaifa was asked how old he had been at that time. He said: I made arrows and put feathers to them (i. e. I had passed my childhood).
