Abu Huraira reported: Five are the acts quite akin to the Fitra, or five are the acts of Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubes, cutting the nails, plucking the hair under the armpits and clipping the moustache.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْفِطْرَةُ خَمْسٌ - أَوْ خَمْسٌ مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ - الْخِتَانُ، وَالِاسْتِحْدَادُ، وَتَقْلِيمُ الْأَظْفَارِ، وَنَتْفُ الْإِبِطِ، وَقَصُّ الشَّارِبِ»

ابن عیینہ نے زہری سے حدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نے سعید بن مسیب سے ، انہوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے اور انہوں نے نبی ﷺ سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’فطرت ( کے خصائل ) پانچ ہیں ( یا پانچ چیزیں فطرت کا حصہ ہیں ) : ختنہ کرانا ، زیر ناف بال مونڈنا ، ناخن تراشنا ، بغل کے بال اکھیڑنا اور مونچھ کترنا ۔ ‘ ‘

Anas reported: A time limit has been prescribed for us for clipping the moustache, cutting the nails, plucking hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes, that it should not be neglected far more than forty nights.

Ibn Umar said: The Apostle of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Trim closely the moustache, and let the beard grow.
