Abu Sa'id Khudri reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) made a mention of a woman of Bana Isra'il who had filled her ring with musk and musk is the most fragrant of the scents.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ خُلَيْدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، وَالْمُسْتَمِرِّ، قَالَا: سَمِعْنَا أَبَا نَضْرَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكَرَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، حَشَتْ خَاتَمَهَا مِسْكًا، وَالْمِسْكُ أَطْيَبُ الطِّيبِ

یزید بن ہارون نے شعبہ سے ، انھوں نے خلید بن جعفر اور مستمر سے روایت کی ، ان دونوں نے کہا : ہم نے ابو نضر ہ کو سنا ، وہ حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کر رہے تھے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بنی اسرا ئیل کی ایک عورت کا ذکر کیا ، اس نے اپنی انگوٹھی میں کستوری بھرلی تھی اور کستوری سب سے اچھی خوشبوہے ۔

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: He who is presented with a flower should not reject it, for it is light to carry and pleasant in odour.

Nafi' reported that when Ibn Umar wanted fumigation he got it from aloeswood without mixing anything with it, or he put camphor along with aloeswood and then said: This is how Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) fumigated.

`Amr b. Sharid reported his father as saying: One day when I rode behind Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), he said (to me): Do you remember any poetry of Umayya b. Abu Salt. I said: Yes. He said: Then go on. I recited a couplet, and he said: Go on. Then I again recited a couplet and he said: Go on. I recited one hundred couplets (of his poetry). This hadith has been reported on the authority of Sharid through another chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.

`Amr b. Sharid reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) asked him to recite poetry, the rest of the hadith is the same, but with this addition: He (that is Umayya b. Abu Salt) was about to become a Muslim , and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Mahdi (the words are) He was almost a Muslim in his poetry.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: The truest word spoken by an Arab (pre-Islamic) in poetry is this verse of Labid: Behold! apart from Allah everything is vain.
