Umar b. Muhammad b. Zaid reported that he heard his father narrating from Ibn 'Umar that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) had said. If bad luck is a fact, then it is in the horse, the woman and the house.

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «إِنْ يَكُنْ مِنَ الشُّؤْمِ شَيْءٌ حَقٌّ، فَفِي الْفَرَسِ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ، وَالدَّارِ»

محمد بن جعفر نے کہا : ہمیں شعبہ نے عمر بن محمد بن یزید سے حدیث بیان کی انھوں نے اپنے والد سے سنا ، وہ حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کر رہے تھے کہ انھوں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " اگر کسی چیز میں کسی ناموافقت کا ہو نا بر حق ہو سکتا ہے تو وہ گھوڑے عورت اور مکان میں ہے ۔ "

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters but there is no mention of the word Haqq (fact).

Abdullah b. 'Umar reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: If there is bad luck in anything, it is the horse, the abode and the woman.

Sahl b. Sa'd reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: If bad luck were to be in anything, it is found in the woman, the horse and the abode.

Jabir reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: If bad luck were to be in anything, it is found in the land, in the servant and in the horse.

Mu'awiya b. al-Hakam as-Sulami reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, there were things we used to do in the pre-Islamic days. We used to visit Kahins, whereupon he said: Don't visit Kahins. I said: We used to take omens. He said: That is a sort of personal whim of yours, so let it not prevent you (from doing a thing).
