Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no huma, no star promising rain, no safar.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ، وَابْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنُونَ ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا هَامَةَ وَلَا نَوْءَ وَلَا صَفَرَ»

علاء کے والد ( عبد الرحمٰن ) نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : : کسی سے خود بخود مرض کا لگ جانا کھوپڑی سے الوکانکلنا ، ستارے کے غائب ہو نے اور طلوع ہو نے سے بارش برسنا اور صفر ( کی نحوست ) کی کو ئی حقیقت نہیں ۔ "

Jabir reported Allal's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no ill omen, no ghoul.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no safar, no ghoul. He (the narrator) said: I heard Abu Zubair say: Jabir explained for them the word safar. Abu Zubair said: safar means belly. It was said to Jabir: Why is it so? He said that it was held that safar implied the worms of the belly, but he gave no explanation of ghoul. Abu Zubair said: Ghoul is that which kills the travellers.

Abu Huraira reported: I heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: There is no divination but the best type is the good omen. It was said to Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ): What is good omen? Thereupon he said: A good word which one of you hears.

Anas reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no divination, but good omen pleases me, i. e. the good word or a good word.
