Abu Huraira reported that he heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: Nigella seed is a remedy for every disease except death.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُمَا أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ فِي الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ وَالسَّامُ الْمَوْتُ وَالْحَبَّةُ السَّوْدَاءُ الشُّونِيزُ
  عقیل نے ابن شہاب سے روایت کی ، کہا : مجھے ابو سلمہ بن عبد الرحمٰن اور سعید بن مسیب نے بتا یا کہ حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ان دونوں کو خبرد ی کہ انھوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرما تے ہو ئے سنا ، " شونیز سام ( موت ) کے علاوہ ہر بیماری سے شفا ہے ۔ " " سام : موت ہے اور حبہ سودا ( سے مراد ) شونیز ( زیرسیاہ ) ہے ۔

A'isha the wife of Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: When there was any bereavement in her family the women gathered there for condolence and they departed except the members of the family and some selected persons. She asked to prepare talbina in a small couldron and it was cooked and then tharid was prepared and it was poured over talbina, then she said: Eat it, for I heard Allah's Messenger (may peade be upon him) as saying: Talbina gives comfort to the aggrieved heart and it lessens grief.

Abu Sa'id Khudri reported that a person came to Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and told him that his brother's bowels were loose. Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Give him honey. So he gave him that and then came and said: I gave him honey but it has only made his bowels more loose. He said this three times; and then he came the fourth time, and he (the Holy Prophet) said: Give him honey. He said: I did give him, but it has only made his bowels more loose, whereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Allah has spoken the truth and your brother's bowels are in the wrong. So he made him drink (honey) and he was recovered.

Amir b. Sa'd b. Abu Waqqas reported on the authority of his father that he asked Usama b. Zaid: What have you heard from Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) about plague? Thereupon Usama said: Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Plague is a calamity which was sent to Bani Isra'il or upon those who were before you. So when you hear that it has broken out in a land, don't go to it, and when it has broken out in the land where you are, don't run out of it. In the narration transmitted on the authority of Abu Nadr there is a slight variation of wording.
