Ibn Umar reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: The fever from the vehement raging of the (heat of Hell), so cool it with the help of water

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَابْرُدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ

یحییٰ بن سعید نے عبیداللہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : مجھے نافع نے حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے خبر دی ، انھوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا؛ " بخار جہنم کی لپٹوں سے ہے ، اس کو پانی سے ٹھنڈا کرو ۔ "

Ibn Umar reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: Fever is due to vehemence of the heat of Hell, so cool it with water.

Asma' reported that a woman running high fever was brought to her. She asked water to be brought and then sprinkled it in the opening of a shirt at the uppermost part of the chest and said that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) had said: Cool (the fever) with water. for it is because of the vehemence of the beat of Hell.
