Abdullah b. Zaid b. 'Asim al-Mazini reported: He saw Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) perform the ablution. He rinsed his mouth then cleaned his nose, then washed his face three times, then washed his right hand thrice and then the other one, thrice. He then took fresh water and wiped his head and then washed his feet till he cleaned them.

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ، وَأَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ حَبَّانَ بْنَ وَاسِعٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الْمَازِنِيَّ، يَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُ: «رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فَمَضْمَضَ ثُمَّ اسْتَنْثَرَ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، وَيَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا وَالْأُخْرَى ثَلَاثًا، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ بِمَاءٍ غَيْرِ فَضْلِ يَدِهِ، وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَنْقَاهُمَا» قَالَ أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ

ہارون بن سعید ایلی اور ابو طاہر نےحدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نےکہا : ہمیں ابن وہب نےحدیث سنائی ، انہوں نےکہا : مجھے عمرو بن حارث نے خبر دی کہ حبان بن واسع نے انہیں حدیث سنائی ( کہا : ) ان کے والد نے ان سے بیان کیا ( کہا : ) انہوں نے حضرت عبد اللہ بن زید بن عاصم مازنی انصاری ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو دیکھا ، آپ نے وضو کیا تو کلی کی ، پھر ناک جھاڑی ، پھر تین بار اپنا چہرہ دھویا اور اپنا دایاں ہاتھ تین بار اور دوسرا بھی تین بار دھویا اور سرکا مسح اس پانی سے کیا جو ہاتھ میں بچا ہوا نہیں تھا اور اپنے پاؤں دھوئے حتی کہ ان کو اچھی طرح صاف کر دیا ۔ ( اسی سند کے ایک راوی ) ابو طاہر نے حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے کہا : ہمیں ابن وہب نے عمروبن حارث سے یہ حدیث سنائی ۔

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: When anyone wipes himself with pebbles (after answering the call of nature) he must make use of an odd number and when any one of you performs ablution he must snuff in his nose water and then clean it.

Hammam b. Munabbih reported: This is what Abu Huraira transmitted to us from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), and he mentioned a number of a hadith, of which this is one: that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: When anyone amongst you (performs ablution) he must snuff his nostrils with water and then clean them.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (way peace he upon him) said: When anyone performs ablution he must clean his nose and when anyone wipes himself with pebbles (after answering the call of nature) he must do that odd number of times.

It has been transmitted by Abu Huraira and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (both of them the reputed Companions of the Holy Prophet) that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said like that.

Abu Huraira reported: The Apostle of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said. When any one of you awakes up from sleep and performs ablution, he must clean his nose three times, for the devil spends the night in the interior of his nose.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) say: When anyone wipes himself with pebbles (after answering the call of nature) he should do this odd number of times.
