Jabir b. Abdullah reported: When I was married. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) asked me if I had got carpets. I said: How can we have carpets? Thereupon he said: You will soon have. Jabir said: My wife had possessed a carpet, and I said to her to remove that away from me, but she would say: Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) had said: You will soon have.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا تَزَوَّجْتُ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَّخَذْتَ أَنْمَاطًا قُلْتُ وَأَنَّى لَنَا أَنْمَاطٌ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ قَالَ جَابِرٌ وَعِنْدَ امْرَأَتِي نَمَطٌ فَأَنَا أَقُولُ نَحِّيهِ عَنِّي وَتَقُولُ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ

وکیع نے ہمیں سفیان سے حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے محمد بن منکدرسےانھوں نے حضرت جابر عبد اللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : جب میں نے شادی کی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے پو چھا : " کیا تم نے بچھونوں کے غلا ف بنا ئے ہیں ؟ " میں نے عرض کی ، ہمارے پاس غلا ف کہاں سے آئے ؟ آپ نے فرما یا : " اب عنقریب ہوجا ئیں گے ۔ حضرت جا بر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : میری بیوی کے پاس ایک غلا ف تھا میں اس سے کہتا تھا : اسے مجھ سے دور رکھو ، اور وہ کہتی تھی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرما یا تھا : " عنقریب غلا ف ہوا کریں گے ۔

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported that Allah's Messengor ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: There should be a bedding for a man. a bedding for his wife and the third one for the guest, and the fourth one is for the Satan.

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) having said: Allah will not look upon him who trails his garment out of pride.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar through other chains of transmitters also with the addition of these words: On the Day of Resurrection.

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) having said: He who trails his (lower) garment out of pride, Allah will not look toward him on the Day of Resurrection.
