Ibn 'Abbas reported that there came to Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) a group of people from the tribe of 'Abd al-Qais. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said to them: I forbid you to prepare Nabidh in gourd, in pitcher besmeared with pitch, in hollow stump and in waterskin (meant for preserving wine). In the hadith transmitted on the authority of Hammad the word. gourd has been used in place of waterskin .

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ح و حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ قَدِمَ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُقَيَّرِ وَفِي حَدِيثِ حَمَّادٍ جَعَلَ مَكَانَ الْمُقَيَّرِ الْمُزَفَّتِ

عباد بن عباد اورحماد بن زید نے ابو حمزہ سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں عبدالقیس کا وفدحاضر ہواتو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا؛ "" میں تم کو کدوکے ( بنے ہوئے ) برتنوں ، سبز گھڑوں ، کھوکھلی لکڑی کے برتنوں اور روغن قار ملے ہوئے برتنوں ( میں نبیذ بنانے اور پینے ) سے منع کرتاہوں ۔ حماد نے اپنی حدیث میں مقیر کے بجائے مزفت کالفظ بیان کیا ۔
