Abu Tha'laba reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying about one who comes three days later on the game he has shot: Eat it, provided it has not gone rotten.
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الَّذِي يُدْرِكُ صَيْدَهُ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ: «فَكُلْهُ مَا لَمْ يُنْتِنْ
  معن بن عیسیٰ نے کہا : مجھے معاویہ نے عبدالرحمان بن جبیربن نفیر سے حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے اپنے والد سے ، انھوں نے ثعلبہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے ، انھوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس شخص کے بارے میں ، جسے تین دن کے بعد اپنا شکار ملے ، روایت کی ۔ ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ) " جب تک بدبودار نہ ہو اسے کھا سکتے ہو ۔ " ( سخت ٹھنڈے علاقوں میں دیر تک صحیح سلامت رہے گا ۔ )

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Tha'laba al- Khushani with a slight variation of (words): He (the Holy Prophet) said in regard to the game killed by (a trained) dog: Eat after three days provided it has not gone rotten.
