It has been narrated on the authority of Sa'id b. Musayyab who said: My father was one of those who swore fealty to the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) near the tree. When we passed that way next year intending to perform the Hajj, the place of the tree was hidden to us. If you could point out clearly, you would (certainly) be knowing better.
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ حَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: «كَانَ أَبِي مِمَّنْ بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ الشَّجَرَةِ»، قَالَ: «فَانْطَلَقْنَا فِي قَابِلٍ حَاجِّينَ، فَخَفِيَ عَلَيْنَا مَكَانُهَا، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ تَبَيَّنَتْ لَكُمْ فَأَنْتُمْ أَعْلَمُ»
  ابوعوانہ نے طارق سے ، انہوں نے سعید بن مسیب سے روایت کی ، کہا : میرے والد بھی ان لوگوں میں سے تھے جنہوں نے درخت کے نیچے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت کی تھی ، انہوں نے کہا : جب ہم اگلے سال حج کے لیے گئے تو ہمیں اس کی جگہ نہیں ملی ، اگر تم لوگوں کو وہ جگہ معلوم ہو گئی ہے تو تم لوگ زیادہ جاننے والے ہو ۔

It has also been narrated on the authority of Sa'id b. Musayyib who learnt from his father that they were with the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) in the year of the Tree (i. e. in the year of the fealty of God's pleasure sworn under the tree at Hudaibiya), but next year they forgot the spot of the tree.

The tradition has been narrated on the authority of Sa'id b. Musayyib who learnt it from his father. The latter said: I had seen the tree. When I came to the spot afterwards, I could not recognise it.

It has been narrated on the authority of Yazid b. Abu Ubaid (the freed slave of Salama b. al-Akwa') who said: 1 asked Salama as to what effect he had sworn fealty to the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) on the Day of Hudaibiya. He said: To the effect that we will die fighting.

It has been narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Zaid who said: A person came to him and said: Here is Ibn Hanzala who is making people swear allegiance to him. He (, Abdullah) asked: To what effect? He replied: To the effect that they will die for him. 'Abdullah said: I will never swear allegiance to this effect after the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ).

It has been narrated by Salama b. al-Akwa' that he visited al-Hajjaj who said to him: O son of al-Akwa', you have turned apostate and have come to live again in the desert with the Bedouins (after your migration). He said: No, but the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) has permitted me to live in the desert.
