Umm al-Fadl reported: A bedouin came to Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) when he was in my house and said: Allah's Apostle, I have had a wife and I married another besides her, and my first wife claimed that she had suckled once or twice my newly married wife, thereupon Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: One suckling or two do not make the (marriage) unlawful.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ عَلَى نَبِيِّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِي، فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، إِنِّي كَانَتْ لِي امْرَأَةٌ، فَتَزَوَّجْتُ عَلَيْهَا أُخْرَى، فَزَعَمَتِ امْرَأَتِي الْأُولَى أَنَّهَا أَرْضَعَتِ امْرَأَتِي الْحُدْثَى رَضْعَةً أَوْ رَضْعَتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تُحَرِّمُ الْإِمْلَاجَةُ وَالْإِمْلَاجَتَانِ»، قَالَ عَمْرٌو فِي رِوَايَتِهِ: عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ

یحییٰ بن یحییٰ ، عمرو ناقد اور اسحاق بن ابراہیم سب نے معتمر سے حدیث بیان کی ۔ ۔ الفاظ یحییٰ کےہیں ۔ ۔ کہا : ہمیں معتمر بن سلیمان نے ایوب سے خبر دی ، وہ ابوخلیل سے حدیث بیان کر رہے تھے ، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن حارث سے ، انہوں نے ام فضل رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : ایک اعرابی اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا جبکہ آپ میرے گھر میں تشریف فرما تھے ، اس نے عرض کی : اے اللہ کے نبی! ( پہلے ) میری ایک بیوی تھی ، اس پر میں نے دوسری سے شادی کر لی ، میری پہلی بیوی کا خیال ہے کہ اس نے میری نئی بیوی کو ایک یا دو مرتبہ دودھ پلایا تھا ۔ تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " ایک دو مرتبہ دودھ دینا ( رشتے کو ) حرام نہیں کرتا ۔ " عمرو نے اپنی روایت میں کہا : عبداللہ بن حارث بن نوفل سے روایت ہے ( عبداللہ کے والد کے ساتھ دادا کا نام بھی لیا

Umm Fadl (Allah be pleased with her) reported that a person from Banu 'Amir b. Sa'sa said: Allah's Apostle, does one suckling make the (marriage) unlawful? He said: No

Umm Fadl (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Being suckled once or twice, or one suckling or two, do not make marriage unlawful.

In the narration transmitted on the authority of Ibn Bishr there is a mention of two sucklings and Ibn Abu Shaiba has narrated it with a small variation of wording.

Umm Fadl (Allah be pleased with her) reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be'apon him) having said this: One or two sucklings do not make (the marriage) unlawful.

Umm Fadl (Allah be pleased with her) reported that a person asked Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ): Does one suckling make (the marriage) unlawful? He said: No.

A'isha (Allah be pleased with, her) reported that it had been revealed in the Holy Qur'an that ten clear sucklings make the marriage unlawful, then it was abrogated (and substituted) by five sucklings and Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) died and it was before that time (found) in the Holy Qur'an (and recited by the Muslims).
