Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came to Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and said: I have a slave-girl who is our servant and she carries water for us and I have intercourse with her, but I do not want her to conceive. He said: Practise 'azl, if you so like, but what is decreed for her will come to her. The person stayed back (for some time) and then came and said: The girl has become pregnant, whereupon he said: I told you what was decreed for her would come to her.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ لِي جَارِيَةً، هِيَ خَادِمُنَا وَسَانِيَتُنَا، وَأَنَا أَطُوفُ عَلَيْهَا، وَأَنَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ تَحْمِلَ، فَقَالَ: «اعْزِلْ عَنْهَا إِنْ شِئْتَ، فَإِنَّهُ سَيَأْتِيهَا مَا قُدِّرَ لَهَا»، فَلَبِثَ الرَّجُلُ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الْجَارِيَةَ قَدْ حَبِلَتْ، فَقَالَ: «قَدْ أَخْبَرْتُكَ أَنَّهُ سَيَأْتِيهَا مَا قُدِّرَ لَهَا

سفیان بن عیینہ نے ہمیں سعید بن حسان سے حدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نے عروہ بن عیاض سے اور انہوں نے حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : ایک آدمی نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے دریافت کیا ، اور کہا : میرے پاس میری ایک لونڈی ہے ، میں اس سے عزل کرتا ہوں ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " بے شک یہ ( عزل ) ایسی کسی چیز کو نہیں روک سکتا جس کا اللہ نے ارادہ کیا ہو ۔ " کہا : وہ شخص ( دوبارہ ) حاضرِ خدمت ہوا اور کہنے لگا : اللہ کے رسول! وہ لونڈی جس کا میں نے آپ سے ذکر کیا تھا ، حاملہ ہو گئی ہے ۔ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " میں اللہ کا بندہ اور رسول ہوں ۔ ( میں جو کہتا ہوں اللہ کی طرف سے کہتا ہوں

Jabir b. 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported that a person asked Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) saying: I have a slave-girl and I practise 'azl with her, whereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: This cannot prevent that which Allah has decreed. The person then came (after some time) and said: Messenger of Allah, the slave-girl about whom I talked to you has conceived, whereupon Allah's Messeuger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported: We used to practise 'azl during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ). This (the news of this practise) reached Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), and he did not forbid us.

Abu Darda' (Allah be pleased with him) related from the Prophet of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) that he came upon a woman who was in the advanced stage of pregnancy at the door of a tent. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Perhaps he (the man accompanying her) intends to cohabit with her. They said: Yes. Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: I have decided to curse him with such a curse as may go along with him to his grave. How can he own him (the child to be born) and that is not lawful for him, and how can he take him as a servant for that is not lawful for him?
