Yuhannis, the freed slave of Zubair, narrated that when he was sitting with Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) during the days of turmoil, his freed slave-girl came to him. After saluting him she said: Abu Abd al-Rahmin, I have decided to leave (Medina) for the time is hard for us, whereupon Abdullah said to her: Stay here, foolish lady, for I have heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: For one who shows endurance on the hardships and rigour of it (of Medina) I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، عَنْ قَطَنِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ عُوَيْمِرِ بْنِ الْأَجْدَعِ، عَنْ يُحَنَّسَ، مَوْلَى الزُّبَيْرِ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ، فَأَتَتْهُ مَوْلَاةٌ لَهُ تُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ، يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْنَا الزَّمَانُ، فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ: اقْعُدِي لَكَاعِ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ، إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

امام مالک نے قطن بن وہب بن عویمر بن اجدع سےروایت کی ، انھوں نے حضرت زبیر کے آزاد کردہ غلام یحس سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے انھیں ( قطن کو ) خبردی کہ وہ فتنہ ( واقعہ حرہ ) کے دوران میں حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے ، ان کے پاس ان کی ایک آزاد کردہ لونڈی سلام کرنے پر حاضر ہوئی اور عرض کی : ابو عبدالرحمان ! ہمارےلیے گزرا اوقات مشکل ہوگئی ہے لہذا میں مدینہ سے نقل مکانی کرنا چاہتی ہوں ۔ اس پر حضرت عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اس سے کہا : ( یہیں مدینہ میں ) بیٹھی رہو ، نادان عورت! بلاشبہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے سنا : " کوئی بھی اس تنگدستی اور سختی پر صبر نہیں کرتا مگر قیامت کےدن میں اس کے لئے گواہ ہوں گا یاسفارشی ۔ "

Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) said: I heard Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: He who patiently endured the hardships and rigours of (this city, i. e. Medina), I would be his witness and intercessor on the Day of Resurrection.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: For one among my Ummah who shows endurance against the hardships and rigours of Medina, I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: There are at the approaches of Medina angels so that plague and the Dajjal shall not penetrate into it.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: Dajjal will come from the eastern side with the intention of attacking Medina until he will get down behind Uhud. Then the angels will turn his face towards Syria and there he will perish.
