Al-'Ali' b. al-Hadrami reported Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon as saying: For a Mahijir, it is only three (days') stay at Mecca, after completing (the Hajj or 'Umra) that is allowed, and it seemed as if he was saying that he should not (stay) beyond this (period).

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، يَسْأَلُ السَّائِبَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، يَقُولُ: هَلْ سَمِعْتَ فِي الْإِقَامَةِ بِمَكَّةَ شَيْئًا؟ فَقَالَ السَّائِبُ: سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لِلْمُهَاجِرِ إِقَامَةُ ثَلَاثٍ بَعْدَ الصَّدَرِ بِمَكَّةَ»، «كَأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهَا»

سلیمان بن بلال نے ہمیں عبد الرحمٰن بن حمید ( بن عبد الرحمٰن بن عوف ) سے حدیث بیان کی کہ انھوں نے عمر بن عبد العز یز کو سائب بن یزید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے پو چھتے ہو ئے سنا کہہ رہے تھے : کیا آپ نے مکہ میں قیام کرنے کے بارے میں ( رسول اللہ کا ) کو ئی فرما ن سنا ہے؟ سائب نے جواب دیا : میں نے علاء بن حضرمی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا : کہہ رہے تھے : میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ، آپ فر ما رہے تھے : ( مکہ سے ) ہجرت کر جا نے والے کے لیے ( منیٰ سے ) لوٹنے کے بعد مکہ میں تین دن قیام کرنا جا ئز ہے ۔ گو یا آپ یہ فر ما رہے تھے ۔ کہ اس سے زیادہ نہ ٹھہرے ۔

Al-'Ala' b. al-Hadrami reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: The Muhijir should stay at Mecca after performing the rituals (of Hajj) but for three (days) only.

Al-'Ala' b. al-Hadrami reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: It is only for three nights that a Muhajir should stay at Mecca after the completion of the rituals of Hajj.

Al- Ala' b. al-Hadrami reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: The stay at Mecca after the completion of his rituals (of Hajj) is only for three days.

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying on the Day of Victory over Mecca: There is no Hijra (emigration) but only Jihad and good intention; and when you are called to battle, then go forth. He also said on the Day of Victory over Mecca: Allah made this town sacred on the day He created the earth and the heavens; so it is -sacred by the sacred- ness conferred on it by Allah until the Day of Resurrection and fighting in it was not lawful to anyone before me, and it was made lawful for me only during an hour on one day, for it is sacred by the sacredness conferred on it by Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Its thorns are not to be cut, its game is not to be molested, and the things dropped are to be picked up only by one who makes a public announcement of it, and its fresh herbage is not to be cut. Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) said: Messenger of Allah, exception may be made in case of rush, for it is useful for their blacksmiths and for their houses. He (the Holy Prophet) conceding the suggestion of 'Abbas) said: Except rush.

A hadith like this has been narrated on the authority of Mansur, but he did not mention: On that very day He created the heavens and the earth, and he (the narrator) substituted the word fighting (qital) for killing (qatl), and further said: No one is to pick up the dropped thing except one who makes a public announcement of it.
