Abd al-'Aziz b. Rufai' (Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked Anas b. Malik to tell me about something he knew about Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), viz. where he observed the noon prayer on Yaum al-Tarwiya. He said: At Mina. I said: Where did he observe the afternoon prayer on the Yaum an-Nafr? and he said: It was at al-Abtah. He then said: Do as your rulers do.

حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، قُلْتُ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ شَيْءٍ عَقَلْتَهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَيْنَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ يَوْمَ التَّرْوِيَةِ؟ قَالَ: بِمِنًى، قُلْتُ: فَأَيْنَ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ يَوْمَ النَّفْرِ؟ قَالَ: بِالْأَبْطَحِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: افْعَلْ مَا يَفْعَلُ أُمَرَاؤُكَ

عبد العزیز بن رفیع سے روایت ہے انھوں نے کہا میں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سوال کیا میں نے کہا : مجھے ایسی چیز بتا یئے جو آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سمجھی ہو ( اور یاد رکھی ہو ) آپ نے تر ویہ کے دن ( آٹھ ذوالحجہ کو ظہر کی نماز کہاں ادا کی تھی ؟ انھوں نے بتا یا منیٰ میں ۔ میں نے پو چھا : آپ نے ( منیٰ سے ) واپسی کے دن عصر کی نماز کہاں ادا کی ؟انھوں نے کہا اَبطح میں ۔ پھر کہا ( لیکن تم ) اسی طرح کرو جیسے تمھا رے امراء کرتے ہیں ۔

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and Abu Bakr and 'Umar observed halt at al-Abtah.

Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Umar regarded halt at Muhassab as Sunnah (of the Holy Prophet) and observed the noon prayer on Yaum al-Nafr at that place. Nafi' said: Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) halted at Muhassab and the Caliphs did the same after him.

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported.: Halt at al-Abtah is not the Sunnah. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) halted there simply because it was easier for him to depart from there, when he left.

Salim reported that Abu Bakr, 'Umar and Ibn Umar used to halt at Abtah. 'Urwa narrated from 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) that he did not observe this practice and said: Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) halted there, for it is a place from where it was easy to depart.

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) reported: Halt at Muhassab is not something (significant from the point of view of the Shari'ah). It is a place of halt where Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) halted.
