It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: A group will secede at a time of division among the people, and they will be killed by the group that is closer to the truth.

They would recite the Qur'an, but it would not go beyond their throats, and they would pass through the religion as an arrow goes through the prey. So when you meet them, kill them, for in their killing you would get a reward with Allah on the Day of Judgement.

If you were to exercise restraint, I would tell you what Allah has promised to those who would kill them on the order of Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ). I (the narrator) said to him: Did you hear it from Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم )? He (Hadrat 'Ali) said: Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah; Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah; yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah.
