Abu Huraira reported from the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as having said this: The heart of an old person feels young for the love of two things: love for long life and wealth.

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ حُبِّ الْعَيْشِ وَالْمَالِ

اعرج نےحضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے اسے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تک مرفوع بیان کیا ، آپ نے فرمایا : " بوڑھے آدمی کا دل دو چیزوں کی محبت میں جوان ہوتاہے : زندگی کی محبت اور مال کی ۔ "
